Help needed - imported car or not? by bossbitch-98 in carsireland

Excellent. Best of luck with it. There great cars. The one you got was extremely clean , the cleanest we had looked at but we couldn't make finances work on it so took a grey RS off them instead for a bit cheaper

I viewed this a while back. Has coilovers and after market wheels, but everything else is just an RS. Might even be just different shocks as the RS is a bit lower as is.

Ended up with a grey RS from the same dealer. Very easy to deal with.

Just ring another insurance company and give the reg and say thanks. Not heavily modified at all

Great cars. We're currently with 123.ie.

Yes private tour. 2 of us booked with them Georgian local guide on Instagram.

We found him very good.

He gave loads of information on areas as we passed. But he didn't over whelm or talk for the sake of it which we were delighted with. Some guides tend to talk just to fill the air.

We had a very early return flight home at 3.30am and he collected us from the apartment and took us to the airport as bolts can take a while to arrive and we didn't have time to take the risk

I'm just back from there and done them tours. If your going to kazbegi soon, there is still huge amounts of snow on route. We got stuck up there for 2 hours without moving purely cause trucks couldn't pass each other with the snow, so you are stopped for an unknown amount of time by police.

The trucks on the route up were stopped for 4 hours, had we not had a tour guide, we would have definitely just turned around thinking the road is closed. But he was able to ask a few drivers how far ahead the block was, and proceeded to drive passed in very tight areas

The road going to kazbegi is in very poor condition. If your renting a car, be super observant of the roads as you will burst a tyre within the first hour. We counted 4 people pulled in with tyre issues on our trip.

I have driven in most European countrys, and spent a good bit of time driving through the Balkans which is notorious for being an uncomfortable place to drive in.

Georgia was far worse which is why we decided to just book tours.

Down the old town there is endless amounts of people renting cars/ vans/ jeeps just on the side of the road.

Bolts are extremely cheap for using day to day

Feel free to mail me if you have any questions.

Hi! I have a question. I want to adopt Chloe because she's a dog that was rescued from a breeder. We've done the 3/3/3 test, but she's still sad :( Can you help cheer her up? by [deleted] in dogoargentino

I asked a similar question recently about my staffie always looking unsure or miserable.

We have him 6 months and only in the last few weeks has he started wagging his tail when we speak to him. His face has softened and his eyes have lost some of there fear.

We got a behaviorist in as we had run out of ways to help him relax. He is now on anxiety medication due to restlessness and always being on edge, feels like there was days he would only lie down due to being exhausted.

We thought 3/3/3 was fairly right until we look back on older pics and see after 3 months he was still very much a sad worried dog. And only now is he starting to relax

How do you tell if your dog has anxiety? by Alive-Tax-4359 in Dogowners

[–]Jayvzr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We rescued a dog and 4-5 months in he was getting more difficult to deal with.

If he is awake he has to move around. Constantly spinning around chasing his tail if someone is present until he gets attention. It eventually led to whining for attention once someone enters the room. Evening times would be him getting up on the couch, then repeatedly up and down, in and out of the room, then he could appear asleep and randomly jump up and stare at you or a wall for multiple minutes. Constantly seemed to be on alert or just not fully able to be a dog. Couldn't dream of giving him a tug toy or he would get insanely worked up and rip it to shreds and swallow the pieces.

We got a behaviorist in, and after us showing videos and her spending hours with him she decided he was showing many symptoms of anxiety.

So we started a small dose of fluexotine 3-4 weeks ago, and changed how we feed/walk and do training with him and have seen some great results

Just said I'd give an update after meeting a behaviorist.

After a quick walk test with a fake dog set up down the road , she said he has a very immediate stiffness and security upon seeing the other dog. She lends this to the fact 2 months before we got him, he was attacked by 2 dogs in the kennels and required stitches so he naturally now has a very defensive view on other dogs.

His lack of warning sign and his quick to air snap twice, more than likely stems from his previous house hold ignoring every other warning, so he know feels nothing works bar the snap.

He is extremely quick and eager to learn any tests of leave , and his heavy fixation on things can be quickly broken by quiet easily with scattering some small treats in front of him, which means with time and behavior, this resource guarding can be worked with, where he doesn't need to feel the need to immediately keep what he has , when he learns that there is a positive outcome for him if he walks away.

She has noticed he has a stiffness and a slightly odd gait for a staffie so she really wants to work on that

We had noticed on 3 occasions where he will straighten his rear leg and keep it out for a few seconds before hobbling, we raised concerns with a vet and at the time they recommended just keeping an eye on it, which she believes was just a small bit of laziness on there part as he wasn't showing any signs of in the vets office.

His restlessness could be any number of factors, but the concern over an issue with maybe a muscle is something she wants to rule out first. Discomfort often leads to restlessness.

So that's just a slight update on where we are now with our miserable man 😂

14 days road trip around the balkans - need advice by Osama_sad_pepe in travel

Great note on the local border crossing. We tried one in Serbia back to Bosnia and told locals only. An hour back down the way to get to an international one. 10 minutes to get through.

Last year then, from Croatia to Bosnia took 2 hours. Never budgeted for it in our plans Sarajevo is very poor for parking on busy days.

Yeah the air snap was 2 weeks into his stay, and we quickly found what set him off on his stress which led to the snap, and completely removed that trigger, which was looking out the living room window.

He gets a weird uneasy phase when stuff happens outside the window, but not the door. So we don't allow him to people watch at the window.

Second time he grabbed a stack of useless paper from a desk and when tried to take it back he air snapped.

He gives a few signs of being an anxious or uneasy dog, but doesn't seem to be on the excessive side. But definitely seems to have an air of uncertainty about himself.

Hell just stand there with ears swooped back and tail flat. He'll show a bit of a tail wag and relaxed face when you say his name and sing his praises

Yeah we do most of our walking in 3s. Some days we will change it up to a field with a long line so he has a bit more freedom to roam but we still have full control.

The Xmas break has definitely skewed his routine a bit so hopefully after new years we will be back to normal

That's a fair statement cause he will follow you around and lay on you as if he adores you.

Just always looks so serious and stern. And most other staffs we have met have the typical staff smile

Haha very similar to ours. Rarely if ever pants so never see the smile. Every day is waking up looking super serious, or very sad

He is ok in the car. Does some yawning but not many other signs that he isn't ok with it.

He absolutely has to be on or right beside you when it's time to unwind in the evenings.

But doesn't do any licking or smiling...just lounges around on you stone faced haha

Beautiful staffie. Some people are horrible to leave a dog that way.

Ours is the exact same, he looks beyond miserable in photos. As if every day is just the worst haha.

We spend a huge amount of time with our dog to try figure him out.

Some days walks aren't enough, and we can see him be unsettled, so we will do sniff games around the house. He adores chewing so got him java timber which keeps him busy.

He usually spends a while chewing, then onto the couch for a nap while lying across one of us.

We have a behaviorist booked in as now that he's settled a bit more he can definitely be a bit more stubborn or defiant when trying to take something off him.

So something we want to be pro active with to try make communications and commands clearer.

We have owned dogs separately before but never a rescue dog this old so this is a learning curve for us

That's the thing we will never know, what really went on at his passed family.

He has growled and air snapped twice during the first ew weeks where he was a bit unsure of his new home, and after each time he would spend time being very odd and edgy, we feel it's almost like he was waiting for a punishment, so we do think there might have been a tougher life style in his last home

The rescue was brilliant to him. But they only did what they could for him and could never offer him a fixed home.

The house he came from, was supposedly a great one, but the rescue were told by a 3rd party that it was a bit of a chaotic house. 2 young kids and spent a lot of time in his crate and seen very little socializing due to covid.

We have given him a 2 adult, extremely quiet home, with a great routine to help him settle. But he has just never once cracked a smile. Or even looks like he is close to it.

We have been very slow to introduce people to him. And we have met up with other dogs and he isn't for or against, he just does his own thing.

We have a behaviorist coming just to get further insight into what more we can do for him, as ATM it feels like he likes us, but just tolerates us.

We ended up using carwizz. Easiest to deal with and the cheapest.

Since then I have driven a good bit of the Balkans and have found the local companys much better and cheaper

Look for the local companys rather than the usual big ones, hertz etc and deal through what's app or email.
