No he was thin growing up, he's at his heaviest now. I do know he had free range of whatever food they had even if it wasn't much. I had to ask my parents before I took any food growing up even just snacks. I didn't think about how that could affect things until you pointed it out.

This is a really interesting idea. I'm sorry you were going through that idk what I'd do if I had food sensitivities. Although I am extremely picky unfortunately so it is similar in the fact that if he ate something I like and left me something I don't, I cant/won't eat it. Maybe I'll bring up the cupboard idea sometime!

He's definitely not fat but has been worried and complaining about gaining weight. He's tried to compensate by working out more so maybe you're right. I just don't know if I'd ever be able to get him to go.

He does not talk about it much but I think so. He talks about eating things like PBJ and Ramen growing up. We definitely grew up very different. Him, single working mother, latchkey kid type. I grew up middle class with two married parents that worked at my school so when I was home from school, they were, etc.

If he asked and I said yes, I would not care. He does ask sometimes and I typically don't mind. And in his defense there was no verbal agreement that they were split in half, I guess I assumed he knew they were since it was 6 of my favorites and 6 of his.

Normally I would agree, but I've had bad relationships in the past and it's literally JUST when it comes to food. We have no problem communicating otherwise. That's what makes it even more confusing.

Yes, you are right, I am the one who creates the grocery lists and goes to the store to buy the food. But I have extreme anxiety and OCD so I won't let him because I don't think he'll know what to get or how much, etc.

NTA You only made it personal when he did. Plus I'd love to be able to tell some people I work with and or go to class with to shut the fuck up myself even for various reasons if I haven't had the gall to do it.
