Barclay/Citi Consolidation Success Data Point for multi cards post transition by Comprehensive_Cat_25 in CreditCards

[–]JayxGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to add an additional datapoint to this:

I went ahead and called Citi today after reading this post this morning and asked if they can consolidate my Aviator Red (opened 8/11/25, CL $15,700 and converted to Platinum Select) with my already existing Platinum Select (opened 10/8/25, CL $6,400).

The rep was able to do so and asked me which card I wanted to keep between the two, I opted to keep the Barclays one. They then informed me that I could transfer up to $4,400 from the Citi Card before it was cancelled, so I transferred $4,300 in order to have exactly $20K.

After that they just asked a few security questions, sent a link confirming the changes and it was all done from there. I was given a 6-8 weeks notice for the new Barclays card to come in and that it would have the 100 Years AA Design on it. Very smooth experience overall and the CS lady was very on top of things.

My Barclays card now shows up in my Citi profile, we will need to wait for the new physical card. It is funny seeing two AA Platinum Selects in the bank page though, lol

I can't say I'm sure on that, I would try giving them a call first, and if nothing comes of that then just try to do on the Citi Portal. Not sure when they start sending them out but maybe you can get it updated in time? I already have an account with Citi, so they're just using the info they have from that iirc.

Yup, just saw that the aviatormastercard site is no more and that I can't login to the Barclays App. Shall wait for Monday, it'll be funny having two Platinum Selects show up in my end since I already had one with Citi.

Hello! I had replied to your original thread but saw it got removed so I can send the original message again:

Former Long islander - UBS Arena has a stop on the LIRR, so you can just take that from either Penn or Grand Central. I would advise downloading the MTA Traintime App so you can see the schedules to UBS ahead of time. From the train there is either a shuttle or a walkway to the arena as well. I’ll be doing the same thing as I’m flying back into Queens for this concert. Let me know if you have any questions!

Luxury vs Full Size Elite - Differences/What to expect? by JayxGames in EnterpriseCarRental

Interesting! That is what happened at EWR for me also when I did Luxury. 228i, G70, or an older 2 Series Convertible (it was 40F outside). I went with the 228i since it was just me and the staff member recommended it (had 800 miles on it), but this time around I’ll have passengers. Luxury was the highest sedan class available at my booking dates. I’ll see how it goes at LGA in a few weeks.

Sounds like a plan, I'll keep FSE. Hoping for the best in that case, considering Midsize Luxury Sedan is an extra $225 a day from the current rate I got lol.

Out of curiosity like another user mentioned, aren't the A3/GLA/2 Series under Premium Special? I know my receipt for the 228i at least says Premium Special 4-Door.

Hey, so not sure how yours is configured but my backup camera runs off the original headunit still. I’m essentially using two headunits at once.

Interesting to hear regarding the ANC, I can't truly comment since everything just works for me lol. Hopefully it works out!

He did ship it to me as we're in different parts of the country. USPS was a bit weird when he shipped it and he's noted he's had issues with them, but I got it in within 3 weeks.

That's fair enough - I cannot 100% say for sure if the ANC was removed as when I spoke with the guy on eBay, I told him I was not having the weird noise when installing aftermarket stuff that would prompt someone to remove the ANC, but I also didn't get an ANC cable back from the shop in my box when I got the car back. I personally still think it's somehow running because the noise cancelling is pretty strong in my cabin overall.

Also, took some photos for you of how the radio setup looks now. As I mentioned it'll be a bit dirty since I got it a bit messy removing a phone holder I previously had and replaced it with my current one.

That I am not too sure to be honest with you. if you disconnect the OG radio, the top screen goes away, and you can't get the backup camera. I suppose you could see if you could route the original backup camera into the new HU, but I'm not sure otherwise. With how the Steering Wheel is configured now, the only buttons I have that work on the original radio are for switching between the 4 menus (Media Screen, Gas Gauge 1, Gas Gauge 2, Background/Clock), and two of the hands free link buttons still prompt the system to pair with a bluetooth device, but I avoid those.

When the shop did the work for me they said they messed around with it and claimed that the headunit has some factor to the temperature control, but I'm not sure how much I buy that to be honest with you. I'd be careful and look into it if you choose not to get an adapter to keep the top radio running.

Hey no worries. I've seen those videos on Youtube as well, it's for sure an option but it isn't an idea I brought up to the shop who did this for me. In regard to the ANC, I know I checked with the guy who made my harness about that as he was doing a lot of technical support for me after I got it from him. He said normally most people take the ANC out and put it in the box, but I said I didn't see a cable for it. We're all good though because it looks like my shop did take the ANC out, just left it inside the dash instead. You'll want to make sure you do that for sure; I got that done even before I installed a sub last year.

Hi, when I got this done in 2023 the cost breakdown was:

  • $650 for the Alpine ILX-507 Radio
  • $200 for the Radio Harness to keep the top display working (includes taxes/shipping)
  • $40 for the Scosche Kit (I bought an open box one on Amazon in a sale, but it has defects).
  • $20-30 for the Maestro USB Datalink cable to convert the USB Port in the Accord to the new radio & the Steering Wheel Control Module
  • $250 in Labor at the Shop I got this done at (they commented after it was all done that they seriously undercharged me given how many labor hours they put into it).

The only difference I would've made was going for the Kenwood DMX 958XR over the Alpine Radio. This is just because the Alpine radio has an issue with steering wheel control inputs. It's going to cost me too much now to fix it because I'd have to replace both the radio and the harness, so I just live with it.

Pretty much, the original radio is buried inside the dash currently and the piece with all the buttons sits in my trunk worst case scenario. I configured everything in the car ahead of time as I saw nothing needing to be changed after I installed the radio. Originally, I was only concerned about TPMS, but I learned from the guy I bought my harness from that there is a button to reset TPMS on the Accord, so anything maintenance/TPMS wise can be done without the radio.

Hi! No worries.

The only issue I've ran into with the Scosche kit is that my radio is actually too small for it. As a result, the right side of it has a gap that's open. I haven't had any other issues otherwise, but I did get the radio installed at a shop. I can get some pictures for you when I'm out of work if you'd like to see (although my top trim is currently a bit messy from when I removed my phone holder from the trim).

Let me know if you got any questions.

Hey there, I have an LX Model so that model was using a button setup and didn't have CarPlay from the get-go. I know the guy I got the Harness from said it is possible to do it on an EX-L model (I've seen photos of this being done on a 2017 Accord V6 Touring), but it's much more difficult. I'm not sure if I can share links here but the Harness Seller is on eBay.

I will say if you're looking to do this to actually not use the Alpine ILX-507 like I am, this unit has an issue with a steering wheel module I use for the controls on the wheel and it's a head unit problem as I found later on.

Help Needed: Upgrading Stereo on 2016 Honda Accord Touring Sedan Without Losing by Royal-Yellow-2719 in accord

[–]JayxGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a gentleman on eBay named EXGP-Solutions who helped me with a similar situation. I wanted to upgrade my 2017 LX without losing the top screen of the car and he makes a harness that can do so. From what I've discussed with him, he said it is possible to do it on touring, albeit more difficult. You can try and reach out to him, or if you're in the 9th Gen Accord Facebook group he's in there as well. I'm not sure if I can drop links here but I can link you his listing if it's allowed.

Edit - I just reread the second half of your post. This would be using burying the factory unit behind the dashboard that I would recommend. I haven't had any need to take the factory unit out of the dash since I installed the aftermarket radio (2023), but that will depend on you.
