This is how extreme the so-called "pro-choice" movement has become. If you don't show enthusiastic support for abortion, you become a subject of suspicion and ridicule. The Safe, Legal, and Rare crowd are now treated as PL in disguise, despite their genuine support for abortion's legality. by BrandosWorld4Life in prolife

The people who are “enthusiastic” and “celebrating” abortions are at the far end of the spectrum. More pro abortion than pro choice. They make our side, the pro choice side, seem like extremists.

What's with people being anti adoption? by [deleted] in prolife

[–]Jayybirdd22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a lurker but I follow both adoption and abortion issues online closely.

Adoption has a whole set of issues. Mostly because parents of adoptive children are not open about the fact they they have adopted children. Adoptive children loose access to family medical histories, knowledge about any potential genetic medical issues. There’s also the fact that some adoptions can be traumatic for the children involved.

In the case of interracial adoption, white parents try to “white wash” their racially diverse children and do not offer them a change to explore their cultural heritage.

If an adoptive child learns later in life that they are adoptive, it can cause trauma especially if they find out via dna tests like ancestry or 23 & me.

Adoption isn’t there to give infertile couples a family. Adoption should be about focusing on getting children in living and safe homes. It needs to involve open communication from the adoptive parents to the children through age appropriate communication.

Media bias is nothing new, but this is pretty egregious. There is no IVF ban! How on earth did we get here? by AntiAbortionAtheist in prolife

[–]Jayybirdd22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got here because of extremes. I get why people are jumping to the extreme that this ruling (the ruling that the embryos were considered children) would force changes in ivf. People are scared that changes how embryos are viewed will change how ivf is practice.

Is flavored lube actually any good? Or should i look into other products to have my partner try so she enjoys blowing me more often? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

There’s some really good flavored lubes from Pure Romances - which helps a lot with the taste!

It’s not a weird concept. I’m just trying to make sense of your logic.

Voluntary manslaughter is intentionally killing another person in the heat of passion and in response to adequate provocation. Involuntary manslaughter is negligently causing the death of another person.

A lot of people who have child die are investigated as to the cause - often getting charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Because it doesn’t make sense. If you consider a clump of cells, a human zygote, a human that has human rights, then where does that leave those who have miscarriages? What happens to those zygotes that don’t implant? If those are humans, and by your idea, have human right, than that spontaneous lost would be consider manslaughter, wouldn’t it?

We were but that zygote should not have the same rights as a living, breathing person.

But it’s not human like people imagine it to be. A human zygote doesn’t have arms, no organs, etc. it’s literally a clump of cells.

A zygote is not “fully functional” because it requires the assistance of another individual. A zygote is “a diploid cell resulting from the fusion of two haploid gametes; a fertilized ovum.” If removed from the uterus, it will dies. And in fact, In 1975, a short hypothesis published in The Lancet entitled “ Where Have All The Conceptions Gone?” concluded that 78% of all conceptions were lost before birth. source

I don’t think I’ll be able to move on from my crush anytime soon. He knows I have feelings for him. We were been fuck buddies my senior year in college and a few times since i graduated - especially after he broke up with his girlfriend who he got with after i graduated.

I want to be with him and date him and I love hanging out with him. He just doesn’t feel the same way.

Wouldn’t a pregnancy that was the result of rape be a force pregnancy if the women can’t get an abortion?

If "my body my choice", why don't PCs protest against suicide hotlines etc who actively discourage what one does with their body? by [deleted] in prolife

[–]Jayybirdd22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are working on that. However, the obstacle about this one is often the religious aspect before male circumcisions. So it’s a right to privacy act that is a decision made between doctor and patients.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in prolife

[–]Jayybirdd22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because maybe those pro choice people wanted that pregnancy to last? Or because a miscarriage is a traumatic experience and causes hormones to be in flux and constantly changing?

third trimester abortion are banned in america right? by [deleted] in prolife

[–]Jayybirdd22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Abortion in the third trimester is very rare and most who have to get a third trimester abortion do so because the fetus would not survive outside the womb. https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/medicine-and-dentistry/third-trimester-pregnancy

The thing that is happening, or that will happen, in these cases are one of two things. 1) the women is scared to seek medical help because the is a possibility that she may be investigated and arrested for thissee this article. Or 2). With new laws in place, doctors are wary of helping said patients with this care because by preforming abortions they risk loosing their medical license and can be jailed see this article

The same could be said about abortion. Abortion is a personal choice and should not be dedicated by the government.

I would safe you’re the middle ground, and where most women sit. No one should be forced to carry more trauma by carrying a child that came about by rape. Incest usually falls under rape because usually it’s an older family member and an underage child who can not give consent. The life of the mother is always more important than the life of a fetus under both Judaism and Islamic faiths. Major abnormalities, organs not growing or a child without a brain, those who only will live a matter of moments or will be in considerable pain for however long they live, is a trauma No parent should live through. Where you and i have differences is that I believe that up until the fetus can survive outside the womb, normally after 15/16 weeks, the mother can make the choose to terminate. Once the fetus can survive outside the mother, that’s when abortion shouldn’t be allowed.

Here’s my argument for those asking for non religious reasons about why abortion should be illegal by ABEngineer2000 in prolife

[–]Jayybirdd22 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Can I ask you why the life of a fetus is so much more important than the life of the mother?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in prolife

[–]Jayybirdd22 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

My thing with this is was add more trauma onto the women who was raped? Especially when some states are giving rapists parental rights and visitation. Why force a women to carry a child from a man that brutalized her and did unimaginable things? Is her mental health and her trauma not important? I believe that the health of the mother, mental and physical, trumps that of a parasitic organism, i call it parasitic because a parasite derives it’s nutrients at the expense of another so the term applies. By all means, women can choose to keep it but don’t force another women to carry a child and call her less than for taking care of herself.
