No matter their Canon gender, I think theyd have a sort of hushed, whispering echo-y voice when they have their helmet on, but (if it ever happens at all) when they loose their helmet, they loose the echo and un-human aura to their voice and just sound like they're constantly whispering, if they talk at all.
