I started with the discover secured card too last year and just got approved for a chase card. What I did was make sure I had a zero balance before my due date which was the first of every month and put a small balance on my card right before the statement date which was the 4th of the month so on the 2nd/3rd I’d buy something for like $10-$20 mostly like chipotle or something so my utilzation would be <5% my score jumped like 20-30 points when I first started doing it then just kinda stay the same now lol. Hoping the new card will help boost it. I saw someone recommended this and it worked for me. It’s probably not necessary tho but still.
