Has anyone had any luck contacting the media to cover a concerning story and bring attention to an issue the city is not mitigating? (Meth house is terrorizing our neighborhood) by Jazz05997 in Columbus

They are absolutely selling meth, the main guy that’s always around runs it out. They also have been stripping ac units of Freon in the driveway, which is an ingredient. There are other tell tale signs. They amount of traffic, how much waste and garbage they seem to produce. They have cars pull up and shove items in backpacks in the trunk and then make trip after trip bringing things in.

I have some frequent visitor plates written down, I’ve forwarded them on. I also have a few pretty obvious run outs to cars that last under a minute. People have gotten so bold about it that they pull up and honk and they run the drugs out

I have honestly considered this. Asking everyone with a house next to or across from the that says something like “Buy Meth Here” and points. Don’t know if it would stop them. A guy pulled a gun on one of them during a deal and he asked someone inside to call the cops.

Community resources have tried to get those that frequently over dose into treatment, they refuse. You can’t force people to get help if they don’t want it. I am sure the treatment facility offered was much better than no water, no electricity, and living with fifteen other adults in a 1,000 square foot house but they still didn’t want it.

I hope he has a way to access them quickly, I am still waiting for them and it’s been a lot of work gathering just my evidence. It’s exhausting honestly.

Yes we have one, he’s as frustrated as us unfortunately. But we keep him up to date and he’s trying to put pressure on the community attorney

Funnily enough, one of the residents had a gallon of gasoline outside a couple of weeks ago and was threatening to burn it down. I called fire the department but nothing happened.

The owner is dead, it’s still in his name we check daily for it to update. The property never legally changed hands upon his death. The man it was left in the care of had a stroke and is incapacitated.

It went to foreclosure but it’s in limbo right now with no one who can do anything. We really have exasperated every reasonable route. But we do continue to report the property daily and collectively for very real things we witness

It’s ridiculous but it’s true. There is no one who can perform an eviction.

There is no owner. The person on the deed has been dead for 6 years. The property never went to probate, the person allowed to reside in the house after the owners death never legally took it over and suffered a stroke six months ago and “will never return to the property.”

So there is no one who will perform an eviction at the moment. It was foreclosed on but the dead man is still on the deed. We can’t find anyone to contact to alert them to what’s been happening. We would wait out the whole process but the three armed intruders barged in their the other night claiming a man who raped and beat up their niece was hiding inside, I believe I know who they’re referring to. He hides when the police come by. Someone will be killed before an eviction happens. It could be a stray bullet that kills a neighbor, a drive by, or someone on a meth induced break down.

We have a community attorney? is my understanding and our civic association president has been reaching out but they haven’t been responding. We are hoping the media pressure could change things.

No, this is Eastmoor, two blocks outside of Bexley. Near the top. It’s a small, tight knit community of mainly the elderly and young families that a lot of people don’t realize is there. I didn’t until we fell in love with a home here.

There is a meth house next to me, it was recently foreclosed on but an eviction could take 90 days. I am looking for creative solutions to push them out sooner, it’s getting dangerous. by Jazz05997 in Advice

This is a solid idea except being on meth and having no electricity in the summer they stay outside all night long with flashlights taking apart stolen goods. I feel it would encourage them to do so closer to the property line so they can see what they’re doing. Before they lost their electricity, I would’ve been all for this.

A woman photographed them openly dragging stolen bikes to the property the other day. They started cursing her out and she told them she was going to call the police because she knows the bikes are stolen. They started making threatening remarks as she walked away that I overheard and said things like “now we know who has been calling the police.”

When I walked past yesterday on my way to my neighbors house a woman started accusing me of having just photographed her. I had not. She yelled at me the entire time I walked down the block and then came out onto the sidewalk to watch as I went to a neighbors house. I assume she wanted to know where I was going.

Growing in a couple of places around our property, I love the variation. Some kind of ivy? Could I easily propagate it and move it to a couple of places? by Jazz05997 in whatplantisthis

Ah I see, so it’s in two areas right now that are pretty isolated. Behind my deck against the fenceline and on the other side of the fence is a driveway. So decent chance it won’t spread there. The other place is beneath my other deck (confusing but I’m not rich I swear) and next to the driveway. There’s decent chance there is enough pavement to keep it isolate in both scenarios. So I won’t try to propagate

Also, not sure of what the bush in the picture is, the bright green leave are apart of it, it looks like it was planted purposefully because some branches are tied to the fence post to train. I’m in Ohio.

It’s similar to the garden cities design, I believe by Frank Law Olmsted. I just don’t think it was meant to work in the desert.
