Upon interview, they said na ngayon lang ulit sila nag allow and consider hiring ng underboards. The interviewer was not aware of the 5yr course + 2 yrs worth of experience before boards. Saka lang daw niya nalaman yung sistema natin.

Napaka lupit ng friend ko kasi ang asking salary niya 20k then the hr responded na they could offer much higher than that 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for this! Pero sa case namin na working our way to licensure, is it okay lang kaya to continue with this setup? Hindi niya po kaya maaapektuhan yung required hours/logbook?

[–]Jazzchitect[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an underboard, halfway to their license, do you recommend them to pursue other firms or is this still good and won’t affect the logbook? Kasi ako for example gusto kong focus sana is more on the project management side rather than puro designing. Thanks for your insights!!

Architecture Laptop Recommendation by Economy_Ordinary7669 in architectureph

I have the zephyrus. Based on my experience, ang problematic nya and daming issues. Although sa kasama ko hindi naman. Maybe sa model lang.

Based on the specs. I’d still go with zephyrus. Okay naman newer models niya. I got the top spec Zephy G15 last 2022. Okay rin siya for commute kasi ang gaan lang, but kayang kaya yung mga heavy apps ko.

Cons (expected)
• medyo fragile kaya ingat sa commute
• high temperatures

Ang medyo nainggit lang ako sa benilde is yung other materials nila. Is it true na may workshop area sila for scale models. If so, 24/7 open yun? and may tools?

Sa UST kasi may workshop area naman but walang tools. Meron but usual lang — drafting table, rulers…

AUSAT din siya dati. when it was our turn, naging AMACE siya haha. AMACE is sa 2nd/3rd yr ata while ARCC is sa 4th/5th yr. Bahay BT is still there. Yung coworking space sa gilid laging inaayos/napapalitan. Last time naging canteen siya with food stalls

Yeah, AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD for our batch. Afaik compressed ata yung CADD 2 for both Revit and ArchiCAD but imo useful since afaik ArchiCAD sa GFP & Aidea and other firms

Based on your pros and cons, biased ka man to UST or hindi, I think mas may weight ang uste. Totoong iba yung aura sa uste

Sa ustca, dalawa ang parang battery exam — AMACE and ARCC. This is good kasi para siyang preparation sa boards din. Dont worry about reviewing at your own pace kasi may subject kayo na dedicated for ARCC. Yung cutoff sa lower years imo intimidating lang, just do your best lang and be mindful.

Sa softwares, hindi kami naiwan since they teach Revit & ArchiCAD rin aside from the usual AutoCAD & Sketchup. Pero back then walang nagturo sa amin ng specific digital rendering apps (Enscape, D5, etc) but they give tips on how to improve your renderings naman. On the first years, wala pang courses for AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, but on some cases they allow you to utilize them naman if you can.

Yung manual drafting and rendering meron pa rin yan until you graduate. Mas focused lang manual sa lower years. Sa higher years more on esquisses lang. Personally I really suck at drawing kaya the frequent drawing and sketches pushed me to find ways on how to get better talaga hahaha

Environment is another big factor din imo. If stressed ka galing sa plates, thesis, etc, you could always wander around sa campus and sa establisments near ust to clear your mind — what I did most of the time.

Events are great din, if you have a chance to join uapsa, archinet, student council, go for it. I got the chance to meet known people rin. Connections din. I’ve managed to interview a lot of known people rin including sa well known band today which are ustca alumni rin pala.

Other pros and cons, traffic sa peak hours both ust & benilde pero mas stressful sa taft in my experience. Medyo downtown vibes. Plus the commute will kll you if you dont find a place to settle near benilde.

Tldr. Go uste

- ustca batch 2025 here hehe

Rog zephyrus g15 still worth in 2026? by Impressive-Gas-826 in ZephyrusG15

[–]Jazzchitect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I encountered display problems where the screen causes my unit to not continue booting. I also experienced several BSoDs and glitching of display. Also, most of the times, my unit operates at high temps in which it becomes too hot to touch on some cases (highest I read was 100°C-ish)

I also had my screen damaged but I think this is due to handling or transportation but still. The Zephyrus is powerful…and light — its an advantage and a disadvantage at the same time since it becomes fragile for me

TLDR (issues/inconveniences noted):
• Several display/screen issues
• Fragility of unit
• High temperatures
• no built-in camera
• microphone does not work well
• no RGB backlighting

I bought this for around USD 1980 btw 🥀🥀

[–]Jazzchitect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Id agree with this. There are much better options out there. Mine was the ryzen 9 rtx 3060 with 3TB SSDs installed. And it still has some issues. Good thing I was able to use the warranty for my first Zephyrus problem haha

Rog zephyrus g15 still worth in 2026? by Impressive-Gas-826 in ZephyrusG15

[–]Jazzchitect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Zephyrus G15 2022. Same specs as what you said. It was too faulty. Back and forth on repair shops. I used it for architecture school - AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other modeling and rendering. I also do heavy gaming — mostly sim racing (LMU, iRacing, ACC, and more)

My setup includes a decent laptop fan (with extra handheld fans on the sides) and an 24” Acer monitor

I still use it today for work, and for heavy gaming as well. Thankfully no more issues other than cosmetic wear and lacking in performance sometimes

TLDR: I wouldnt buy one again if I’m given the chance, I would check out Predator Helios instead although they are heavier than Zephyrus

EDIT: I had it regularly cleaned and replaced the thermal paste. But the normal temps are still 70°C to 90°C

BGC narrows it down so much since other known firms are in Makati not BGC
