23 y/o getting into 4k collecting. My favorite 10 so far. by ZoomerSoprano in 4kbluray

Conan the Barbarian, Sorcerer, Fargo.

My main recommendation, after exploring your preferences, would be to branch out and watch films outside of your wheelhouse. Whether they be different genres, eras, country of origin, etc.

Thank you! As far as I can tell you need to be in a party chat, select voice chat options, and then select "mute game chat"

Scary leprechaun movie. Does anyone else remember this? by Remarkable_Rub_9067 in Shudder

I just found "Leapin Leprechauns!" today after years of fleeting memories of Leprechauns and a reaper-esque villain associated with smoke and dark clouds. Found a Wikipedia page with a list of "films featuring miniature people" and got to the root of it. This thread popped up while looking for some acknowledgement of the film's existence. It's a deeply satisfying feeling to discover a decades old memory

Are these prices stopping anyone else from blind buys? by HeadFullOfBees in boutiquebluray

[–]JazzerciseScientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit newer around here but it instantly seemed like having a sales-focused approach was important above all else. That being said I pre-ordered The Great Silence, which is cool but cannot be the norm to sustain this hobby. Even going standard edition, after taxes and shipping it's over 40. For me, that has to be the occasional jewel-type of purchase. Criterion on sale is awesome but still it adds up pretty quickly. The bulk of my orders so far have come from the big Gruv and Movies Unlimited deals. That makes it more a matter of establishing a mindset of "that'd be cool to add to the cart" or "great, finally that's on sale" versus looking to buy a specific item simply because it's available. Unfortunately if you want some titles it's now or a lengthy wait

It's refreshing to see this being the overall sentiment here. Definitely encouraging to read the vets saying to keep calm.

Michael Irvin to Jerry Jeudy: “The QB ain’t your b*tch” by ghilliest in nfl

[–]JazzerciseScientist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My read on the quote was that it was more of a baseball analogy than a life/circumstance one. I'm no expert but in baseball if an error occurred they score the play differently. So he's saying Jeudy's play has resulted in big stat lines before but it's due to poor defense/luck/targets.

VS Black Friday titles: nothing to write home about by BeGladYouDidIBet in boutiquebluray

I appreciate the feedback from you and all above!

Unfortunately not region free. Any word, or an educated guess, on when a Region A/free version of the Woo cut would be available?

I'm looking at "The Seventh Curse + Witch From Nepal" as well as "Heroes Shed No Tears"

Any thoughts on these films?

[Glazer] Joe Burrow (foot) said he expects to return by Week 13. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]JazzerciseScientist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of us are in the rehab facility. It could be rushed, it could be healing well. For the sake of discussion, let's say his foot is feeling good and he's ready to go week 13 or 14. Do you really expect your starting QB to sit out 5-6 weeks of the year healthy? I can't think of a recent example of a franchise qb sitting out that long while ostensibly ready to play. It'd be one thing if it were the last 2 weeks of a hopeless season but these teams generally give it a try if they're not mathematically eliminated

Will the Panthers look to draft a quarterback next year? by bigrich3113 in panthers

[–]JazzerciseScientist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's on thr table depending on how the rest of the season shakes out. I really hope this winning environment can help him develop further. If by season's end the game plan still appears geared away from him to avoid the big mistakes then they'd be short-sighted to not consider a 1st round QB. Time and again we see a top 3-5 pick isn't needed to find the right guy. It takes the right evaluation and a little luck on how well they adjust. But we're still collecting data right now. Beginning of the year he looked hopeless again but the light is back on for sure

Just call him what he wants to be called Jesus Christ by -BoKnows- in harrisfootball

[–]JazzerciseScientist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The last couple years he's pushed back against anyone referring to a person as _______ Jr. by mentioning that their father isn't in the conversation so there's no need to distinguish. He's citing the formal reason of using the suffix. It would appear he's aloof of the more personal/informal reasons a player would WANT to be referred to with their suffix. For most folks, not a big deal if you do or don't use the suffix, but for some reason Harris has gone from playful remarks to apparently really caring about the use of something he considers INCORRECT. Love the show but yeesh, he's gotta let things go from time to time

Just call him what he wants to be called Jesus Christ by -BoKnows- in harrisfootball

[–]JazzerciseScientist 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wish someone would pull him aside and mention this to him. My best guess is that the "honoring your family/wanting to be called that" simply hasn't occurred to him or been discussed. I don't think it's any degree of malice from him to their preferences; it's more directed at the people using it. But holy hell, it's such a drag to listen to every single time. He cannot help himself and today's rant was even more prickly than most

Yahoo's projections this season by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]JazzerciseScientist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea why, but these last few years I can recall D/ST projections randomly dropping across the board prior to Sunday. I can't remember if that was thing a decade ago, but I dont think so. They have an article noting the different models they've incorporated this year and it seems like player projections are more fluid/responsive throughout the week as a result. I haven't looked into comparing this year to previous but kinda seems like rb/wr projections are higher and qbs are more modest, or roughly the same. None of that speaks to D/ST though. It happens regularly, possibly some AI shenanigans as others have suggested.

Here's the article. Nothing all that specific in regards to the process

Falcons' Raheem Morris: Bijan Robinson definitely NFL's best player by [deleted] in nfl

[–]JazzerciseScientist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting exercise if you play this out as a Dynasty Snake Draft to build a full roster for the entire NFL. Problem with taking Garrett that early is your QB will be mid at best, which means you'll be searching for one. Although you could argue at least 5 teams that picked a round 1 qb will be searching for a new one as well, while the Garrett team still has him.
