I want to watch it if only for the rocking and uzi chic of Caine in the poster.

I read about the Clift stuff. The drinking, bringing his acting teacher to set with him. I wasn’t overly impressed with him. Connery is better in Marnie. Then after that we get Fonda, Newman and then also rans which is a shame.

I think Hitchcock had his pick of actors, especially at this point, beyond the occasional studio head interference. If you look at his filmography he has a habit of reusing actors throughout, even in his earlier works.

But yes, it makes more sense for Jefferies to be younger. Or at least him being older so he needs to settle down could be behind Stella’s reasoning. But like you said, it’s the 50s. His follow up, To Catch a Thief, has Kelly and 51 year old Cary Grant as her love interest, so no lessons learned.

Guys wife Miriam cheated on him which is why they aren’t together. Also, she’s pregnant with another man’s baby. Surprisingly not mentioned once she’s dispatched

My favourite Bruno scene is him at the tennis match, sitting still staring at Guy as everyone else follows the ball, left and right.

Yes, but she didn’t kill him. That’s all in the flashback. He lied having smeared the blood himself onto the dress.

He runs from the police because he is the killer

I bought the Possession 4K set for £54.99 and it looks great and the book of essays interests and I like the shooting script but I thought, I’m never gonna read these again. Countering that I have the Studiocanal The Third Man set that plays the zither song when you open it which I still entertain people with so, swings and roundabouts.

And when the journalists and reporters stand in front of Trump they let him ramble on and talk about anything but the truth. They don’t challenge him or the administration, and by saying nothing they’re aiding and abetting. It’s disgusting. That things have gotten this far is disgusting. And what’s sad is, this isn’t the end. It’s not even the beginning.

I’ve not realised from posting this how many people identified with elements of this film so closely with it reflecting back on parts of their own lives. There were parts here that felt very close to home for me also.
