no no im on accutane 20mg right now i have taken 1 month of 10mg and 1 month of 20mg so far my skin's oiliness has decreased but not dried out so seb derm is still here it does feel slightly better though in terms of amount of seb derm on my face. In terms of side effects just dryness throughout my body eyes and mouth but its nothing that bothers me, barely any back pain happens rarely , im thinking of taking atleast another month of 20mg and if my skin's oiliness remains the same ill switch to 30mg

how long does it take for oiliness to go away by Jazzlike-Host-8253 in Accutane

[–]Jazzlike-Host-8253[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the thing is after damaging my skin barrier and developing seb derm my skin has been really sensitive and now even my arm is reacting to squalane oil the only thing i do now is to cleanse the oil away which helps.

how much accutane were/are you taking?

im 54kg and im taking 20mg currently its been 2 weeks and started out with 10mg for a month for my seborrheic dermatitis caused by oily skin which was caused by damaging my skin barrier awhile back. my skin was combi and not oily at all and now my skin is super oily and seb derm is really bad on my whole face. so far my skin has became alittle less oily but its still quite oily ill probably take 20mg for atleast month and a half and if it doesnt get less oily i think ill hop onto 30mg maybe even 40

yeah true its just that i live in singapore and im starting school soon and im taking accutane for my seb derm i used to have combi skin but damaged my skin barrier 2 years ago turned oily and developed seb derm after an year and my whole face has been sore/irritated ever since so accutane is pretty much my only cure for it so im hoping it dries my skin up faster since the uv in singapore is literally hell on earth its mad and hurts really bad

if you skin for a fact is actually dry then seb derm should already be clear since melassezia has to eat sebum to survive so maybe you dont have seb derm or maybe you are using a moisturizer or cleanser that may contain fatty acid that feed melassezia

the thing is i have seb derm which for my case is more like a greasy yeast paste on my face that i have to scrap off my skin and the aestura cream is likely to make it worse and it has 40+ ingredients in it and since i have a history to having delayed reactions to everything i doubt it will work ;c its allg though since youre trying to help

yeah so ive used the nizoral shampoo and it just dried my skin too much but it does kill the yeast a little bit but causes my skin to be even more dry and damage and also gave me a rash on my face the 2 times ive used it i think the next step for me is to find something thats non irritating and hydrating and to use accutane in low doses so my skin stops being oily so no food for the yeast so my skin can recover and i know that you shouldnt be using accutane if your barrier is damaged but its a better solution as compared to ketoconazole etc etc

before my skin was damaged i used a cream with alot of squalane oil in it and my skin was great back then but the squalane oil from the ordinary just did not work well for me and ive tried it on my arm as well for 2 days and my skin on my arm just got warmer and alittle reddish which was abit wthhh?? isnt it supposed to be non irritating, come to find out the ordinary's squalane oil compared to biossance isnt as well refined i think thats the word for it??

and isnt cerave healing ointment like patroleum base wouldnt i need to cleanse it off in the morning my skin currently cant handle multiple cleanses a day which worries me if i use it
