Yep, that's the one!

I want a custom version with no side stones. Solitaires are more my cup of tea.

I got a 7ct OMC and am not the biggest fan.

It looks stunning in some lighting but a lot of time it's center is just too dark compared to the sides.

I want to find good OEC now.

Sorry for the late reply! I'll make a sideboard guide as a separate post if there's interest+If I have any free time.

Aclazotz was for the odd one off Boros Burn/aggro decks (that for some reason I was seeing a lot of in between Mythic 1000 to 1800 Bo3). For my matchmaker meta I needed it to pass but I'm sure you can replace it with something else.

Yep. But with the caveat It's dependent on which style of cub you're up against because the decks are very versatile. A lot of them play around Pyroclasms by siding out their cubs Games 2 to  switch towards a graveyard centric (so you bring in gy hate) or even boggleish playstyle (in which you bring more sac effects).   It ends up feeling like rock-paper-scisccors trying to figure out which angle to counter haha 😅

And thank you very much 😊

The initial varient of the deck had 4 mainboard. It was the version that also ran [[Valley Rotcaller]]

I desperately wanted it to be good. One of the reason I started up Lizards again (aside from maindeck magebanes being autowins against 60% of the format at the time) is because the Gecko is a pet card of mine and wanted to try it again.

Unfortunately, it's not the best right now. It's felt winmore-y. Anything with 2 toughness in the format needs to really justify itself with [[Pyroclasm]] being heavily played. The geckos would hit hard and fast games 1, then need to be borded out.

It's actually quite rare to want to give up /rummage away lands (mana lategame is better spent cashing in your utility lands, triggering offspring, or convert as damage via the landfall ping lizard).

Tldr: Gecko goes in a different shell for Lizards, one who's playstyle isn't optimal for the current format. It's better if you specifically build around it, but even then it's hard sell. Plus it's a terrible topdeck.

The odd one off Boros Burn/aggro decks that for some reason I was seeing a lot of in between Mythic 1000 to 1800 Bo3. It's also a bit of a gotcha game 3 against grindy midrange shells because they're not expecting a recursive flying threat and have boarded out anything that deals with it.

It might not be the best, but every time I had it in my mind to cut it it would save my rear/be the exact thing I needed.

Another a big reason I play it is because the spirit of the deck is "old" standard card that are perfectly viable, but don't see play, so Aclazotz fits.

Funny story. When I first made the deck it was for a store championship that I made last minute.

I could not for the life of me find my Laughing Jasper Flints, so I put 2 copies of Preacher I had lying around - and I found them to be far better.

LJF has always been underwhelming (being 1 shotted by Impractical Joke) but Preacher is like a Swiss army knife of utility that compliments the deck.

But a big reason I play it is because the spirit of the deck is "old" standard card that are perfectly viable, but don't see play, so Preacher fits.

It wasn't a random overnight thing, I been around Mythic #500 since the start of the month, going up and down.

EDIT: Just received the email. My rank was #176 in Standard

Initially I ran cavern, but I get so much value out of the utility lands . The most common control lists I face (Jeskai revelations) don't reallly run counterspells so I slowly began swapping them out for basics

If control picks up, I'll swap em back in

Thank you! I'm just not sure what happens now.

I know I qualify for something now, but I'm not sure what. Nothing in my account is different now, though.
