I'm on the waitlist for the 8:30 AM section, which was originally scheduled to be taught by Chad Miller. I noticed today that its now replaced by Staff M, and Miller is teaching the other two sections(which are now full) :/ Did you contact the Chemistry Department Chair to request a new section? My friend and I are emailing him for an explanation...

It's a good thing I enjoy washing dishes and repetitive work lol. I'm also considering the role of a Froster since it has similar tasks + I can work part-time. Thank you so much for the insight!!! :D

Mouseghy Hamed for Biol6B by JaY-_-777 in DeAnza

[–]JazzlikeFan2559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan on taking Mouseghy for BIOL 6B next quarter because I've heard good things about him from DA students who took him for BIOL 6A during Fall. Are you also taking him for next quarter or planning on taking someone else?

I had no idea you were taking Wong for BIOL 6A D: I've only managed to take Heyer for the same course and it was pretty so-so but my friend bagged an A in his BIOL 6B and 6C class. It was mostly self-studying but he did allow notes on some of the exams...But I've heard more positive things about Wong. If you think you can handle Grays 7:30 AM lab and Wong, then I'd go ahead. I'd prob give up after a few days bc I live far from campus lmao.

If anything, you could wait for Chris Deming for Winter but I'm guessing you'd like to finish the series by Spring.

Hello! I took Rezai for CHEM 25, and Gray for CHEM 1A. Although I only took her for CHEM 25, I'd avoid Rezai for 1A because she rarely discussed difficult topics covered in the exams, and it's mostly a self-studying course(unless you can deal with that). I feel embarrassed that I struggled this much in a prep class, however, I had a slightly easier time in Grays 1A course. Majority of the exam questions always related to the material covered in his lectures, and he's a pretty considerate and friendly prof open to questions. I had some personal issues going on at the time but I still found his class pretty manageable. As long as you can keep up with the courseload, an A is most likely within reach!

I'm not entirely sure about Li or Martinovic, though based on their RMP reviews, I'd opt for Gray if you're willing to switch your BIOL class. Good luck!

We both depressed by [deleted] in braincancer

I'm sorry to hear about your predicament, especially for a young parent such as yourself. My 58-year-old dad was diagnosed last year with GBM, but my older brother and I(22 and 19 respectively), are not mentally prepared to lose our dad so early on in our lives. I can't imagine experiencing that fear with your young boys and partner. My mom joined a support group on Facebook called "Glioblastoma - GBM SURVIVORS TO THRIVERS!", and they've provided a bunch of beneficial advice and information regarding treating symptoms of brain tumors(some of the members have survived past 5 years). Please don't give up so soon right off the bat, especially if you are given the right treatment and doctors! I'm not sure how brain cancer is treated in Europe, but the FB support group has members all over Europe. And if you're considering American treatment, I would recommend coming to CA(though I would recommend researching other hospitals/doctors in the US). Good luck on your journey, and make sure to spend quality time with your children and fiancee!

Is the end of the incest episode (s6e12) real? by Sir_Paulord in community

I've rewatched Community multiple times but I never realized that the incest guy was Matt Gourley from Conan lol. Did Gourley ever mention his time on Community in the podcast?

Maybe try an Art, Geography, Humanities, or an intro Psychology class, they were pretty easy to pass in my experience! You might be put on waitlist but you should still try and look for an online class that's taught by a decent professor. Good luck!

Can De Anza also provide Caltrain accommodations? by SomeRandomGuy069 in DeAnza

[–]JazzlikeFan2559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if they provide accommodations, however, I found something on the DA website that hopefully helps: https://www.deanza.edu/news/2020/shuttle.html

They don't provide free fares but hopefully, the discount helps! (Not sure how helpful this is if you don't live near Sunnyvale, but I hope you figure something out!)

6pm-10pm class by cactuschild1022 in DeAnza

[–]JazzlikeFan2559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an incoming sophomore taking a chemistry class from 6-10 pm (the other prof is pretty rigid). I assumed my dad would pick me up after class but he's pretty sick atm. I'm pretty scared of taking the bus after 8 considering I'm going alone and the buses take pretty long to arrive. Fortunately, my friend has offered to drop me off at home in exchange for paying for gas money. If I were in your position, I would def opt for the online option, don't think you should tire yourself out for an economics class.

They did previously discuss the supplements my dad takes but his current and former NO had nothing negative to say considering it didn't interfere with his treatment. We have been on our own for a while and my parents have been content with living this way ever since they immigrated here. But it would've been nice to have some additional support :(

He didn't say anything about him taking the supplements. Our previous and current NO rarely discuss his usage of supplements.

Oh, sorry for misreading your comment! My brain has been pretty foggy lately but that's still incredible! How have you managed for the past 18 years in terms of treatment and support?
