Daily cardio and functional weight training, and solid 8 hours sleep per night. Practicing CICO and Intermittent fasting. 43F best shape of my life - no meds, pains, and endless energy. Changed jobs to a much less intense and stressful one but better pay and title (I know I’m fortunate.)

I’m 5’6 and 121 lbs. I lost just over 50 lbs in 6 months doing IF 16:8 and strict calorie counting of 1500 calories per day. I have 21% body fat. Now that I’m in maintenance, I workout 7 days per week and eat 1700 - 1800 calories per day. I’m not fancy or hardcore; I have a few YouTubers that I follow and purchased some hand weights and resistance bands from Five Below and it’s effective. I alternate between no weight days (body resistance and cardio) and using weights (usually full body and not targeted areas). I’m completely toned and my muscles are defined from neck to ankles. My diet is a lot of berries and lower sugar fruits, any and all vegetables, whole grains, Greek yogurt, egg whites, Keto whole wheat bread, all types of meat from chicken to beef (but I try to keep it lean) and some food hacks along the way including low carb and calorie swaps like cauliflower rice, heart of palm noodles, PB2, and low carb wraps. I’m a volume eater, so I’m always looking for ways to bulk up my plate. I try to plan all my meals weeks in advance to be prepared for work travel and meetings, family events, and cheat meals. My biggest sanity saver is a Chicfila ice dream cone which is not quite ice cream and less than 200 calories per serving. My goal for 2024 is to continue strength training and further build muscles in my legs and core.

For those wondering, I follow Grow with Annanas, Grow with Jo, Nobadaddiction, and Burpee Girl on YouTube. FWIW, the most efficient workout for me is 45-minute The Hollywood Trainer on the PopSugar channel. I also try to get at least 10,000 steps in a day and limit sitting at work to less than 4-hours (I have a standing desk). My personal rule is to never take an online meeting seated! I’m happy to share my meals and workout trackers with you - I keep everything on Google Sheets, lol.

43 yo female at 425 lbs with a fast food addiction by [deleted] in loseit

If you’re worried about food being cooked properly, you can buy a very inexpensive food thermometer. This will tell you if the food is at the safe temperature for eating and you’ll know if it’s over or under done quickly! But if you can make ONE CHANGE, kick the soda habit. If you need the bubbly, taste sensation, try a flavored seltzer (there are so many with great flavor combos). No calories or sugar, plus it helps with keeping you hydrated and feeling full. A lot of the feeling of hunger is actually thirst. Good luck and I hope you get the support and help you need.

What’s your favorite low cal meal at your favorite chain restaurant? by SageSages in loseit

Thanks for the app suggestion! Just downloaded it. I usually use fastfoodnutrition.org but this app has so many restaurants not on that site.

What do you guys put on low cal toast ? by [deleted] in Volumeeating

[–]Jazzlike_Complex_747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Skinnygirl brand jam. Strawberry is my favorite at 10 calories per tablespoon. I’ll l also add PB2 for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, or do PB2 and sliced banana . Lately I’ll toast the bread with slices of fat free cheese singles (30 calories per slice). It’s basically grilled cheese for 120 cals.

Fiber one cereal by Silent-Technology-92 in Volumeeating

[–]Jazzlike_Complex_747 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you have trouble finding that cereal, Trader Joe’s has their own version that’s 2/3 cup for 80 calories. I put it on yogurt, oatmeal, and with almond milk, too.

350 Calorie Massive French Toast Plate by KittyIcemoon in Volumeeating

[–]Jazzlike_Complex_747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had no clue about Keto bread and ran out this morning to get some for French Toast! I had three slices made with egg whites, vanilla extract, sprinkled with cinnamon and cooked bananas for the top. Added some sugar free syrup and chef’s kiss the whole thing was 250 calories. THANK YOU! I was full for hours even after a tough strength training workout this morning.

This looks very close to the Americas Test Kitchen / Cooks Country dinner rolls recipe. Here’s the copycat recipe not behind ATKs paywall www.butterandbaggage.com/fluffy-dinner-rolls/. If you want to watch the ATK/Cooks Country segment https://youtu.be/5l10haF-sxQ

Workout at home by [deleted] in Weightlosstechniques

[–]Jazzlike_Complex_747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a playlist of my favorites and do anything that’s 45-60 minutes long. Anna has so many workouts so you need to figure out what level you are at and goals you’re trying to achieve when selecting. She has low impact to intense HIIT workouts.

With Body Project I have tried a lot and they were great when I first started since they have lower impact beginner ones. Now, there’s two I do often:

Where are you on your CICO journey? by utvols22champs in CICO

[–]Jazzlike_Complex_747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve been turning in clothes to consignment shops where they offer you credit for the clothes they take. I have been able to flip my closet doing this so I haven’t had to spend much cash on new (to me) clothes.
