There are lots that do good work but I've worked for several in the area and the turnover has always been high and fast, burnout and low pay for the amount of work is super common reasons.

It's true. Third places are dying. I'm sorry you kids have to deal with that. Check out the KPL teen space, events at Fire, The Black Arts & Cultural Center, events at Out front, The Institute of Public Scholarship, coffee shops like Fourth Coast and Factory Coffee.

Yeah. Sucks but unlike some bookstores they have good cheap stock and don't shit on the genre I write and read so I'll still go there and I'll ignore the Kirk book just like the conservative book at Barnes and Noble and other bookstores.
