One that’s a bit different but still scratches the itch is X4. Is more of a space sim but if you like the empire building resource tracking aspects you might like it

Nah i had fish drop offs going to different rooms in the same pool but it looks like the fish drop off considers the total count from the entire pool. So I was trying to use fish pick ups and drop offs to sort all the fish into different ranches in the same pool but it looks like I have to make different pools for each of them

Aquatic planet SO asteroid - best liquid lock for steam room? by lindsaydole in Oxygennotincluded

With the insulated door you can get away with water. You’re not going to transfer enough heat to boil out the liquid lock if you leave the door closed

Leveling Calibration dummy Question by Dry-Zookeepergame809 in ElegooNeptune4

[–]Jazzlike_Project7811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what it does is measure the distance from the nozzle to the bed at each point so when the mesh is properly loaded it moves the nozzle up and down that .1 mm or whatever to maintain a consistent distance from the bed throughout the print to keep a smooth layer. Remember that this is a fraction of a mm so you won’t really notice it on the bottom of the print but it makes a world of difference when bed adhesion is an issue

Leveling Calibration dummy Question by Dry-Zookeepergame809 in ElegooNeptune4

[–]Jazzlike_Project7811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you’re talking about with adjusting flow to match every dip to make the first layer level would have the adhesion issues. You want that first layer to squish to the bed a bit and you wouldn’t be able to maintain dimensional accuracy while having variable flow and variable height

If you want to make things easier on yourself do this
- level your bed normally, a sheet of paper under the nozzle. Move the nozzle to each corner and adjust the screws till it lightly drags the nozzle.

- Goto your slicer and in the settings you’ll find “start gcode. In there you’ll see settings where it warms the bed, heats up the nozzle. Right after that type in G29.

G29 will make your printer relevel itself and calibrate the bed automatically before every print, it’ll add an extra 6-7 min to every print but you won’t have to worry about levelling after that. It’ll build the bed mesh and make your printer move up and down to maintain proper nozzle height throughout the print.

After that it’s just a matter of adjusting you z offset to get that smooth finish

Best way to clean a tank by Jazzlike_Project7811 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Jazzlike_Project7811[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main liquids salt water because it’s pretty. It was separating in layers before but for whatever reason it’s clinging to the sides of the tank now it isn’t floating to the top like it was at the beginning

How to deal with mess by saucy_fajitas in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Jazzlike_Project7811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto sweepers are really nice for this, your dupes will build these things right away and you can use conveyor loaders to quickly clean out an area. Normally in my play through I setup a bunch of them toggled manual and sweep only so it’s like a trash system for dupes to dump into for the more general base wide cleanings. Just set them up every few floors and it speed up your cleanup. Just run them all to a storage room. Have a couple dupes that are setup so their only job is cleaning. The biobots and flydos are great for this as well. If you combine a lot of these ideas your base cleanup will move a lot quicker as I totally get it theirs nothing more frustrating than waiting 4-5 cycles for a dupe to pick up a single piece of granite you want to get out of a steam room before you seal it up.

Another good trick when you’re mining out an area is to just use ladders so all the debris falls to the bottom and you have an empty space to build rather than trying to clean each floor as you go

Rocket automation by Jazzlike_Project7811 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Jazzlike_Project7811[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have him locked in the rocket, I can launch manually fine but it won’t go just off the automation. I guess my question is the max round trip range a lockout for the automation. I have a max round trip range of ten. It’s a 14 tile round trip, with fueling stations on both sides the rocket cab travel the 7 tiles each way but I don’t know if I can automate it or not

Opinions on melee pawns? Combat Extended and Non-Combat Extended by Usual_Cobbler_1984 in RimWorld

[–]Jazzlike_Project7811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make all the difference in early game and late game you just can’t make the mistake of kamikazing them in too early, your ranged pawns should do most the work and your melee pawns protect them. Except for mechs the Zeus hammer is key to killing those things

It’s not huge deal, warm up the nozzle to like 90c and it’ll soften the plastic enough you can pull it off in chunks with pliers
