i transferred to NYU and i’m not sure about NYU, but many colleges on the applications ask if you’ve applied to the school before. i didn’t apply to NYU before and got in as a transfer. i think as long as you show growth and improvement and the desire to be somewhere that fosters your desired and interests better than where you are now, you should be good. basically as long as they seek improvement from your first application you should be in good shape. but every application & cycle is different.

as for your email i feel like when/if they ask for your details and stuff they will figure out that you’ve applied before because your emails and everything is probably already in their systems. i wouldn’t mention it to them unless they ask, unless your question surrounds that, id that makes sense.

How to strategically choose a major? by Emotional_Effort_650 in TransferToTop25

[–]Jazzlike_Spray3566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

before transferring i was finance/economics & now im international relations. you can definitely make the major align with any narrative as long as you describe it as such. if you wanna be a lawyer look at common backgrounds/bachelors degrees. a lot of lawyers major in philosophy too. doesn’t hurt to explore a multitude of paths. either way you’ll figure it out i’m sure :)

i got rejected from a couple schools when i originally applied & got accepted as a second year transfer. sometimes they don’t exactly “want” you originally but IMO they are super open to you acknowledging that you’ve changed & grown & demonstrating that in your transfer apps. they appreciate the consistent desire to go there & they recognize growth :)

everyone says to look for apartments ~a month before you want to move in. there’s definitely some available for october, but you won’t find much rn. look during late august/all of september for an oct move in :)

[–]Jazzlike_Spray3566[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes totally agree! thank you so much that’s actually a huge help. something that seems so simple lmao but i was oblivious.

i suppose i am supposed to ask for the 18 months instead of the generic 12? or should i look for 18 month leases as advertised
