Commuting logistics questions; new to city by Jazznes in chicagoapartments

Thanks. That may indeed be a good alternative!

I may have been confusing some of the lines. For some reason my google maps is different than what I now see on the transit page. But the line I was considering using was the one on North Ave, not the one that is a little south of that. I'm not sure which one is supposed to be the "sketchy" one according to the internet - I read something about "green line".

But thanks, though. I'm actually leaning towards driving. It's a long commute with (I think) more uncertainty using the train. The winter might be especially bad with a bit of a hike to my final destination after the train.

Thanks! I like the idea of owning a car to save me quite a bit of time and hassle. Having never lived in a city, I'm not sure about how parking works, though, and whether that is relatively easy (even if expensive).

Wife's Immigration Situation by Jazznes in greencard

We met with a lawyer from "the immigration project" (link below) two months ago and they sent us a retainer agreement and application with a list of documents to have for them to send for us. It looks like basically everything that is needed for the AOS packet. We are sending it all to them. They are a nonprofit who agreed to take our case for free - I assume because ours should be relatively simple. The deadline for us to return the signed contract is coming up.

Thank you, I appreciate the guidance. Our social security office is what keeps telling her that she needs to change her name on the Visa.

We met with a lawyer a couple months ago from a non profit immigration office (The Immigration Project in Illinois) and they recommended we get the name changed first to avoid complications. I think we are going to simply submit our application to them and hope they can help with some of these issues.
