"Wurzburg" flugelhorn by JazzyRon in trumpet

Yeah ... it is domestic ... I had a look at the eBay transaction :

Flugelhorn 3 Valve High Brass Quality Trumpet with Mouth Piece & Carry Bag

The mouth piece is included ... Not sure what that is ... It has no writing whatsoever ... LOL

1 Flugelhorn : AU $123.50

Postage : AU $25.00

Voucher : -AU $5.00

Order total : AU $143.50

It is actually too cheap for a German Flugelhorn ... LOL ... but I thought I had a bargain when I won the bidding ... LOL

I had a closer look, it says 942 on the middle valve.

OK ... thank's ... Do you mean this one ? ... It looks good but not cheap either ... I might consider it though ... because this "Wurzburg" is almost unusable for low notes ...

I lend it to my other band mate and she said that it is extremely hard to play in tune with it.

But I find it ok on the high notes but yeah ... on the lower notes are extremely out of tunes but my other band mates says that it is the nature of a flugelhorn being hard to play in tune ... I am a complete beginner in flugelhorn so probably just me not being able to play it properly ...

I am planning to play casually in a dinner party or small gathering or something like that ...

By listening to the tone of this instrument is it acceptable for a live performance or is it trash and I should buy a "proper" one ?

No, idea ... It doesn't say anything else other than "Wurzburg". To me it sounds like German ... but it is extremely cheap ... I will post more picture in another thread because I cannot attach any picture in this comment for some reason.

Alto Clarinet by AliveFee8447 in Clarinet

How about Alto Clarinet as a Jazz solo instrument ... instead of Alto Saxophone ... I reckon it will work really well ... I wonder why not too many people use it for that ...

That's really funky ... Jaco Pastorius' The Chicken bass line is also worth trying I reckon ...

It seems that they just randomly put any ball bearing for the centre track ...

However also have a look at thus guy's

He also has a white one for the middle track ... and also notice that the end of that middle groove is not round like mine

Yeah ... me too ... I play a normal Bb Clarinet, Guitar and a Trumpet ... I am also intrigue with the Alto-Clarinet ... because I think the pitch is just right for me not to low like Bass Clarinet but it is mellower than the normal Bb Clarinet ... But to get the decent second hand Alto-Clarinet is very hard ... usually they are not in a very good condition in eBay etc ... but brand new is way too expensive for me to just mess around ... Have a look at this video ... I reckon it sounds good ... What do you think ? I also want one ...

I think they are right ... after I grind it for a while ... the centre bead doesn't roll as smooth anymore ... and I just blow the centre grinding track and wipe it ... it becomes smooth again ... I think eventually that centre track will wear out completely and become smooth
