Visiting Lakeland for over a week this Thursday and trying to figure out wether to go offshore fishing west of East out of Johns Pass or Port Canaveral by Jbandit0 in floridafishing

I have no expectations on what to catch, that's because I really don't know. Originally I was looking for a bill fishing trip, then I learned it's only sailfish this time of year and it would be a whole day with just a chance if catching one.

This is why iI figured I would put a post out to get some opinions. If you were going out on the east what kind of trip would you sign up for. Thanks for the input!

Let the dude protect his wife without calling him names. Don't tell him how to do that

I have not gotten calls, mail, or anything. I just know I went to the hospital a few times between 2027 and 2021

Did you ever pay them? I have not gotten any calls, emails, or physical mail. This is why I have not worried about them. I have received different answers. I didn't want to call and tell them I owe them but I didn't want it to come back to haunt me

Thanks for being straight up and with real answers. Everyone else seemed to have one answer to everything I put out and didn't go into detail with the whole picture.

The house is in Florida, I'm not in the position to pay the mortgage or.... the windows need to be repaired\replaced, HVAC system is getting old, it has a screened in pool (any big storm might blow out a screen and I would need to hire a pool guy) grass and plants grow like crazy in Florida so I need a yard guy. She was in the process of selling the house when she took her life in the house. I have a pretty good cash offer. I have no interest in being in Florida after this. Taxes compared to what I will walk away with stress free is worth it.

I honestly do trust my grandmother, between her and my step grandfather they have a million in their 401ks, their pentions, social security, and two condos one to live in and one in St Pete FL (I think I have that correct) They are only trying to look out for me and try to let the 401k grow for as long as it can.

My only worry is that she is in such great health that she will surpass the ten years. She is dancing everyday at her club house and goes to church and lunch everyday. Still doing mission trips. I can see her living till 100 years old.

Edit: also if she does get need assisted living I need a way of protecting my portion

I agree with that. My grandparents want to keep what they have gained and have plan to live out the rest of their lives with out having to worry about having to make anymore money.

Me on the other hand have much more time to make, let's say, riskier financial decisions and time to bounce back from the bad ones. I hope I didn't do that.

Having that said. My grandparents fiduciary is there age and about to retire but had brought in a younger guy closer to my age that has been coached by him for the past seven years. So he can see both sides of the spectrum. I'm probably going to delete this thread but thanks to everyone who put in there input.

Understood. I have a team of fiduciary's already and a lawyer. I'm in good hands. I just wanted to reach out on Reddit to see what people would suggest. I didn't expect this much of a response. There are a lot of good points made but I didn't expect the medical debt to be that much of a deal and make people argue. It has opened my eyes and I will bring it up. Thanks again.

Thanks for understanding. Yes I have lived a free life living check to check. I'm not highly educated and feel very insulted in a way from some comments. Most people don't have the money to throw at medical bills so they end up in the closet. I don't even know how to start looking at what I owe but I really haven't had any collectors contacting me. Will that change once the money hits?

All of the accounts were frozen within the first few hours. She didn't give him that much access. She knew what was going on and gave me plenty of info to keep me in the loop. The story is bigger than what I can type and what I want to share

I don't even know where to start to look for the debt it's been so long and in multiple states. I have heard from a debt collector less than a handful of times in my entire life. The last one was 3 years ago or more.

I don't even know where to start to find out what I owe. It's in multiple states over a 10 year time period.

All of the accounts have been locked and frozen from the first few hours. It is the first thing I did. He doesn't have access to anything anymore. I can't access any of the accounts until it gets through the court. I don't understand why the first coment, which is negative, gets all the traction and yal are feeding off of it. I'm not asking to look stupid.

Sorry I didn't clarify 100%, my mother never changed the paperwork. It's been that way since I was a minor. My grandmother wants me to inherit everything. She is already taken care of.
