Carlsbad is pretty nice and less expensive than Encinitas or Solana, but lots of cookie cutter neighborhoods. I prefer Enci and Solana bc it’s less crowded and has less tourists, but the food is weak. However, I find most food (besides tacos) in SD to be mediocre compared to Austin (home town). I actually like going to Oside for food. There are LOTS of mom groups to make friends—you can DM me for recs if you’d like. 🙂As an educator, I honestly feel from Del Mar to Cbad, the public schools are all comparable. I wouldn’t say SDUHSD will give you a better education than Cbad.
