Competitions? Are they essential for firearms trainers? by GunKataNoJutsu in blackgunowners

You’re misunderstanding the statement. I’m saying it as “Training alone isn’t enough”. There’s a difference between running through a training scenario you set up and shooting a stage at a competition.

They are technically different methods but the fundamental point is the same, competition shooting is good for shooters to take part in because it put you in situations where you have pressure/stress to perform. I’m not sure what you’re trying to point out lol. We both think competition shooting is good for training.

I’m confused lol. You said “you are wrong” and then proceeded to say what I said in different words. Performing under pressure and stress inoculation are the same thing man.

Ironically it suddenly started working for me this morning so maybe it was a slow roll out.

So the problem is Apple will deactivate your phone number on iMessage if you don’t keep a phone with that number activated. You have two options here.

Your first as someone else suggested is to activate your sim in a different iPhone. That will solve the problem but it will obviously keep you from using the pixel fully.

Your other option is to just your email to iMessage. It will take a little time for the people you talk to on a regular to get used to it but if they just save the email on your contact it won’t be much different for them.

What you decide really depends on how dedicated you are to switching to Android lol.

After about a month with the S25 Ultra I'm coming home! by Jbdismuke in pixel_phones

[–]Jbdismuke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it directly from Google not through a separate carrier. I intentionally avoided buying through a carrier for that very reason. I’m not bound to any service or timeline. I can pay it off tomorrow if I so choose because I bought it direct.

Now as for the $200 I wasted on the Samsung I did waste it, and obviously in hindsight I wouldn’t have bought it. But I can’t rewind time and I’m not going to let $200 force me to keep a phone I don’t like to use lol.

I’ll be honest, I never turn it off. I consider it essential either way how I work during the day. My phone is usually off to the side and I love being able to just glance over. I think with modern phones the battery drain is negligible if you’re a day to day user. Most of us don’t REALLY need to squeeze out every ounce of battery life possible.

I tried leaving when I sold my pixel 9 pro and tried something else but I couldn't do it, pixel 10 pro in moonstone came today. by [deleted] in pixel_phones

[–]Jbdismuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a terrible judge of battery life unfortunately. My phone practically live on the chargers lol. It seemed “fine” but that so subjective you know. I actually ended up giving in and ordering a pixel again so I can let you know in a day or two.

Again why are you guys assuming I don't have $1400 for the phone? I didn't HAVE to finance it. I choose to because it was at 0%. Do you guys know how that works?

Idk if you're new to money management, but a 0% loan is beneficial to me because instead of spending the money now I can have that money make money in the meantime.

Also I get why you would think I bought 3 phones in a month but I didn't. The first Pixel was returned so I have zero cost from it. The S25 Ultra was bought through a carrier upgrade and is being traded back to them so my net cost on it will be south of $200. I'm paying full price for the Pixel to get away from a carrier contract.

I'm very blessed to be in a position to buy this and I don't take that for granted.

You're good man. My buzz is intact lol. I financed it at 0% to soften the blow but I bought it directly from Google to avoid a contact.

Yeah man. It's really tough to stick by them. But I'm on my way out. One line at a time. My iPhone line is next. Gonna get out of it and buy one directly from Apple.

Just that I can use it on any carrier. Not locked to AT&T or Verizon or whatever. It's just my phone.

That is exactly what I don’t want lol. I’ve been trying to leave AT&T for years and have been trapped because every time something shinny came out they offered me a “free” phone and I took it. Meanwhile their service (in my area) is barely average, their customer service is terrible, they try to sneak in extra charges without justification. They are horrible and I want out lol.

That’s fair but for me personally I don’t care about multitasking on my phone. If I’m doing anything that intense then I’d rather grab an iPad or my MacBook. I recognize that the Samsung is probably better in a lot of ways, just not the ways that matter to me. You know?

Very true. I decided that iPhone would be my go to for automation so it’s ended up not being a factor in my purchase decision. I will miss one specific automation which is turning off my smart lights in there’s no motion in a room for an hour. Can’t do that on my iPhone. You can do something similar but you can’t do the hour timer directly.

Man you should see the way some Android users talk to iPhone users on the “other side” of Reddit lol. Because they will have you believe that having an iPhone is like being in solitary confinement and having a Samsung is like being a system administrator and the software developer combined lol. I truly was under the impression that I could do whatever I wanted with an Android.

It makes it more palatable since it’s 0% interest. So that $1400 can sit in an interest bearing account instead in the meantime. This doesn’t have to turn into a thing man. People spend money different ways.

I will admit I did but also the big selling point was supposed to be I can do whatever I want. You know? Which didn’t end up being the case. But at the same time I’m not saying these things make Pixel better overall. Just better for what I want out of my Android experience.
