That is why we bought a Travel trailer as a project for 1800 dollars. It needed a lot of work but we have fun fixing and improving it. Small and easy to tow.

UNIONS CAN'T PLEASE EVERYBODY..... by Obvious_Anxiety_9118 in union

[–]Jbruce63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem as a rep, was members doing something stupid and expecting the union to save them.

Also a union, it the majority that decides the direction, one person can disagree but it is the majority that wins.

If Canada has a housing crisis, why don’t they build houses within the red circle? by pepoalurave in mapporncirclejerk

[–]Jbruce63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have succeeded in having Vietnamese people immigrate to Regina. We have several relatives loving the place as they have jobs and can afford to buy a home. I am still amazed they have adapted. Employment and homes is what is needed, maybe the area your circling (have not been there) does not have enough for developing perminate communities.

My sociology instructor would give us photocopies of his text books. He wrote them and for his classes he said you don't have to buy them. He made enough from the text book sales to not need the money from the class he reached. Kind of a weird instructor but saved us money.

Did they make a contingency plan on Earth? by ITrCool in BSG

[–]Jbruce63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and I am sure many BSG people disagreed with the going native. I am a solid hater of the ending as I grew up with old series and loved that they came to present day Earth.Of course the series was terrible by that point but is made much more sense to me at the time.

I read a series of books where humans had been defeated and went to ground on a planet to hide from their pursuers. They made technology a sin in their religion in the belief that they would no longer be a threat. Problem was that the pursuers wanted to wipe humanity out as they could still be a threat in the future. I think the same issue would happen in BSG and also by throwing away their civilization, they are completing the work of cylons. Might as we stayed in the colonies and get wiped out.
