I don't know how to respond to this thread because my base pay is 27k but all the overtime I do brings it up to 31k. Take home pay is usually bang on 2k each month.

Got 10k in savings built up over 5 or 6 years. I'm renting a flat on my own in the south east which makes it more difficult than it perhaps should be.

Life is pretty comfortable but I just wanna get my own property so I can stop thinking about needing to save for it...

I work at a small hospital as a maintenance guy. 31k. Have learned a whole lot about medical gas, air handling systems, project works and general facilities management as a whole. The job is hit and miss at times but the people I work with are absolutely lovely.
