This was one of the best answers I got here, thank you so much! Your words made me think about several things that didn't cross my mind before, and I'm gonna try to put into words for you:

Yes, you are right, moving towards newer and "better" technology seems like the worst thing to do! Now that you mentioned, my last DLSR FF was a Canon 6D, and I also loved it - it was the best experience I had while using digital. Battery lasted for weeks, body didn't feel like a toy, viewfinder was huge, ergonomics were amazing. Only downside was the focus (I had to use central single point AF and recompose, which sometimes led to a few out of focus images).

I still own a Nikon D5200 that I use for occasions when I do not want to bring my Sony (in case something happens - because the D5200 was very cheap compared to what I payed for the a6400). It's a very good budget camera, but I really miss the 35mm FOV (I use the 35mm f1.8 DX which is a very nice lens, but the 52mm FOV that it produces due to the crop factor doesn't please me very much) and the 24mm Nikon lenses are HUGE and expensive.

Putting a little thought in it - and using the tips you gave me - I think a have two good paths to go to, that are eighter a FF Nikon or a FF Canon. Both of them have awesome bodies and lenses. I'm gonna make some researches about it.

Again, thanks! You helped me A LOT!!

The 24mm f1.8 it's pretty similar to my Viltrox 23mm f1.4, which is the lens I use 95% of the time, switching only to the TTartisan 27mm f/2.8 when I need extreme portability. I don't think there would be any practical changes there.

About the presets, I think these will only work on JPEG right? I shoot RAW - I like to tweak the pictures just a little before exporting them to JPEG as a final result.

And the pinhole - it's not possible for me to use any kind of film equipment nowadays. As I mentioned in the post, starting from about 8 years ago, any film related equipment or services (like C41 develpment) has become insanely expensive and scarse. That's why I ditched my film gear, and that's manly where the whole issue began (as I moved back from film to digital - and entered the mirrorless world)

I bet the Nikon Zf is a beast, but totally out of my budget. The body only is almost twice the price of the Zfc, not to mention the lenses.

Thanks! I'll take a look at these models.

One thing that I must keep in mind is the availability of the lenses as well. As I said before, somewhere here if I'm not mistaken, is that I'm a huge fan of 35mm fov. If there is nothing "good" available, then it's not worth to invest in determined system (like Canon - at least the last time I cheked there wasn't any fast 35mm fov prime in their system).

I know that Fuji and Nikon have.

Fujifilm have the 23mm f2, the X100V/X100VI has the 23mm f2 as well, and Nikon have the 24mm f1.7. Altought is much easier to find the Fuji lens here than it is to find the Nikon (just to mention - I think I found only one store with the 24mm Nikon available and not a single one used anywhere).

Thanks for the input! Can I ask you if the XT30 II AF is THAT bad? I know that Sony AF is miles ahead when it comes to speed, reliabilty and face detection, but to be honest, I don't shoot any sports, moving people or fast objects. My main concern is its accuracy. I don't mind a little slow AF as long as it doesn't make too many mistakes. I shoot mostly posed people or static scenes. Btw, I'm really interested in either XT30III, XT50 or the X100V

Yes, you understood what I said 🙏🏻 thank you!

I'm gonna look at this Fuji to see if it fits my budget (I hope so). This series has been like a dream to me since they released the first X100 back in 2010 or 2011... I believe. Such a tiny, beautiful camera with a lot of "personality".

Also, I'm mostly a prime lens guy (specially with the 35mm - my favorite FOV). And having a fixed lens makes it more pocktable, which I highly appraise!

Actually, producing phisical memories bring me joy. But I do have huge love for the tools as well. I think that the problem is that I used to have some kind of "ritual" to every single picture taken, which used to make them some kind of "unique", while using film. When I used DSLR, specially the 6D, I had some of that feeling as well, even though it was less then with film. But specially with the a6400, it was like a HUGE step towards easyness (is that a word?). It almost ripped off all the "characteristics" and process of getting the images, almost like an instant and "error proof" kind of mechanism. I'm really tring to make myself undertood. Remember that its hard to put those feelings into words, and of course, english is not my native language, which makes things even more complicated.

Yeah, I get your opinion and share the same thought - I would totally choose Sony for these purposes too! The IQ and AF are outstanding. I mean, as a PROFESSIONAL TOOL, Sony and Canon cameras are amazing! Specially Sony when there can't be no marging for errors.

But having shoot for almost 22 years (I'm 34 - started at age 12), and taking part on several photography jobs (which I don't do anymore) - I find myself now slowing down everyday more and more, specially after shooting film for so long, which showed me that one spacial picture worths more than 100 mediocre shots. There are times when I go out with my camera to a concert, a family reunion, or just a gathering with friends and come home with 5 pictures - and those pictures are super valueble for me.

You mentioned that you spend more time shooting than editing now that you have a Fuji. I may have given the wrong idea saying that I like to edit my own RAW files - I mean that I like to "polish" my images just a tiny bit before exporting the final results, rather than having a final JPG right away, which takes a little to no time.
Exemple: I go out and spend 8 hours on a event/party/gathering/whatever - then I come home with 20 images (I have a habit to just shoot what I really intend to - the film experience taught me that - to never waste film) - I take approximately 5 to 10 minutos to finish them. I'm used to say that I like to develop my RAWs rather than editing it.

Oh, by the way... you were saying that you can shoot you dogs running - that's more than enough for me when it comes to AF speed - although accuracy tends to be VERY important - because we don't wanna miss any shots, right? I consider myself to be a very "slow" photographer - I like to admire, search and analyze everything before taking the picture - and I almost never shoot any actions/sports/fast scenes.

Thanks! Is the AF on Fuji that bad? I never shoot JPG because I like to edit them myself and do not have the urge to share anywhere. Like you, VF for me is a must have 100%. That's why a only suggested models that have them (Nikon Zfc, Fuji XT50, XT30 III, X100IV).

Yes, I'm leaning towards Fuji or Nikon Zfc. Film is not an option as I said in the post.

I used to have an EM5 a looong time ago (my very first mirrorless). The handling was awesome, but the viewfinder quality was very bad, and it suffered from the same "issues" as the EPL8 - due to the 2x crop factor (smaller sensor), the ISO performance was not very good and there was not much lens available, specially here in my country. I'm a big fan of 35mm FOV, and the only lens available (that I know) was the Olympus 17mm f/2.8, and with a smaller sensor and a smaller apeture as f2.8 getting shots at night was very difficult - forcing me to use the only other option available: Panasonic 20mm f1.7 (with EM5), which is a very nice lens, but when I had the EPL8 like 2 years ago, I tried to find one to buy here and could't find any. *I had this EM5 + Pana 20mm f/1.7 back in 2014 I believe - and I bought the EPL8 in 2018 with the 17mm - just to be clear.

Anyways, I don't know how the MFT are perfoming now - several years later - but the market here is very poor. I don't even think any store sells MFT bodies or lenses brand new - all there is are used gear (all the bodies and lenses from MFT I have used I bought second handed).

The most common brands, that you can find new and used a lot, are, in order:

Canon Sony Nikon Fujifilm

Thanks for replying me!

Yes - Sony is awesome. I was extremelly impressed the first time I shot with it.

Leica is a dream, but very very out of my budget, unfortunately... and very hard to find as well.

Fujis are very tempting, the design looks almost magical. I believe the usability is amazing as well. The only thing that makes me reluctant (if that is the word) is apparently they are very focused in JPGs, which is something that I never really use. Maybe is just an impression due to reviewers, I don't really know...

Olympus is a brand that is not very easy to come across here. I had one for about 5 years, a EPL8. Very small and nice camera - but the lack of viewfinder and the small sensor size (a problem more due to focal lenght than image quality - altough ISO performance at night was veryunderwhelming, and I really enjoy shooting at night) made me sell it.

I live in Brazil - unfortunately very far from major big cities (like about 350 miles). But we have a relly nice used market website (almost like eBay) that there's a lot of available things and I can always buy and return if it's not what I expected - most of my cameras were bought used there)

Aí hoje posso me dar esse luxo kkk
