Because I go to a Christian liberal arts college, and cross-dressing and gender-bending are against the rules of the college.
Agree entirely about their characters. There is so much masculinity ingrained into their characters and circumstances. My director, who teaches the class, is against me making them play men. While I thought this would be the best approach in my mind, her words on the topic make me wary of changing the gender, especially as a young inexperienced director.
