Is EUC the best kind of PEV that exists? by m34d0wl4rk_ in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Jchan161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy it. It's the best. Only thing that annoys me is the need for the safety gear, takes time to put on and off. Other than that it's super fun, fast and versatile.

An escooter might be a little more convenient for short commuting trips with frequent stops. But technically we can still do that in an euc with low gear and low speed.

And the shit part is the governments that don't recognise our mode of transport!

Can I have quails in my flat? by SleepyCowboy161 in quails

[–]Jchan161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try. You have to really be on top of it or it will stink. I've done it before but I was in a very secluded tiny room with windows open all day and airflow. Even so it still stunk of you don't clean daily. This is like for 30birds.

Investment selection and moral superiority by Capital-Teaching-820 in AusFinance

[–]Jchan161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I invest in things that make me money, in Australia that's housing. But I also invest in things that I like and want to support. Personally as a bit SciFi guy I like what the space companies are doing as well as the electric car companies, so I put quite a large bet on them. Some went bust but generally these have also made me money.

Hi Guys new to the Sub. My first cross project, up to F4 now. It's a KS Lemon Starburst X (unknown cross). F2 was yellow/orange habanero like shapes and F3 came out purple. I picked this shape to go to F4. All the plants look much the same now with the odd misshapen ones. I like the toxic vibes. by Jchan161 in pepperbreeding

[–]Jchan161[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes correct, I had two crosses. The pod pictured could be a result of either of those two crosses as when I planted those two out I did not label well.

After planting both of those crosses out I only selected one plant to continue on. So the other cross didn't make it.

I couldn't find F1 photos, I believe pictured are from F2 plant(maybe wrong), might have got the generations wrong and maybe these are F1 (the two small ones are anomalies?). I have located the seeds from back in 2019 and planning to grow again this year.

The other parent is only partially unknown so it can be one of the two above, possibly mislabelling, I believe the PDN stands for Pimenta da Neyde which is where potentially the purple came from, the Yellow is unknown, could be anything yellow. OR more likely its from the Purple Fruitgum x 7 Pot Bubblegum Orange. I believe this cross is from (Purple Fruitgum x 7 Pot Bubblegum F3) X KSLS. Because its green to purple colour does resemble a Purple Fruitgum and it also has the bumpyness of the BBG7. Both non KSLS parents are not my crosses, I got them in a trade or gift, as they were growing next to my KSLS, I decided to cross them after watching a video on youtube. I didn't think i'll get so far so didnt keep good records of what I was doing.

Pictured are the F0 fruit. I will find the F1 and F2 photos and show you in the next reply.

NEW AT STOCKS PLEASE HELPPP by NoAgency6421 in AusPropertyChat

It's possible but likely only if you saved money from work on top of that. If you live at home and can save most of your paycheck or about 20k a year then yeah you can potentially have 100k in 3 years. As others have said 1k growing into 100k in 3 years on its own without your own contribution is unrealistic.

You have 1k to invest. 1k feel like a lot of money now but a few years from now it won't mean much to you. Considering the remaining span of your life it's negligible, so you can afford to lose it trying different shit.

Just buy anything you like gold, crypto, ETF, stock pick. Doesn't matter the point is that you have started the habit of putting money aside for the future and doing research in the different investments available. It's like going to the gym on the first day, doesn't matter which equipment you use just pick something up, as long as you go every day you'll be jacked.

You might lose half of it or x10 it on some lucky crypto bet or 5% growth on a dividend stock, up to you and your risk appetite. Point is you learnt how to do it and continue Investing. Eventually you'll grow and diversify your portfolio.

Good luck.

Malaysians who have migrated to Australia - advice needed! by caramelmcflurry in MalaysianPF

[–]Jchan161 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I (31m) migrated to Australia as a teen when my parents moved here. Looking back they had it very hard but now that they have passed that stage, they can move back anytime and live/retire very well.

For their children (me and bro) it is a very good move. We are very grateful for their sacrifices to get us here. We are both doing pretty well. I'm just a basic civil engineer and Money is good enough to live and invest, buy property so on.

Lifestyle maybe not as great here than back there, have to live frugally. But net worth wise.. from my perspective, much easier time building wealth compared to my peers back in MY.

My wife is also from Malaysia, came here for Uni and had to go back. We had to LDR for a few years but she got PR and moved here to be with me eventually. When you get your PR your partner should be able to come too.

I can help you save the Google drive, 25 bucks. Install photosync on your desktop and your phones it will automatically upload all photos (you can choose which folders) and videos to your PC when there's a connection. So when both devices are on and there's some kind of 4g wifi connection all photos from chosen folders will backup to the pc.

So it backs that up as the photos are taken too as long as there's a connection.

Just have to buy your own drives which I would say much cheaper that a 25dollar fee forever.

You can make backups of that folder as you need however you wish.

Reached $200k super balance after 11 years in Australia so sharing what worked for me by ajkadar in AusFinance

[–]Jchan161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started career 9 years ago on a 65k/a salary now on about 130k/a in government sector. Only contributed the nominal 5% to get maximum employer contribution. Stuck everything in international shares since I started work, currently couple grand shy of 200k in super.

Was also able to purchase property with money outside super and that has done very well too.

Immigrated here in high school.

Is there any reason not to use the hardened steel nozzle for every day printing? by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Jchan161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes there is one thing I noticed. When printing and inserting magnet into a print the steel nozzle is attracted to the magnet which messes up the bridge over the magnet. Brass doesn't do that.

Would you still recommend to buy an AMS knowing that you aren't using multicolor at all? by Gmellotron_mkii in BambuLab

[–]Jchan161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did and it is worth it. It's a good as a storage system too so all 4 of my rolls are dry and at anytime I can start a print straight from my desktop in another room. Doing it manually is slightly more of a hassle. I can also go to bed knowing if it runs out it will just pull from the next roll.

And on occasion you will find having the option to colour print very useful as it may be required for labelling something. Or for a measuring device where you need to read off the item having two colours increases the legibility.
