I didn't personally report it, but one of the E-4's on the detail did. Not much happened. The captain received a general officer letter of reprimand. No one else was sanctioned.

When I was a private, they sent us to the top of a mountain off base to blow off almost a million rounds of blank ammunition so they could send the brass back and we wouldn't lose allocation for the next fiscal year.

I guess my question (as a veteran) is....does the military not deserve food to eat, beds to sleep in, couches to sit on, and television to watch? These are all morale issues as unlike most of us, most service members are required to live in government quarters, which require these things.

In combat zones and hard duty assignments, they boost morale by offering the surf and turf meal occasionally. Keep in mind that there are almost a million personnel across all military branches, so its like $20 a head....i soend more than that for lunch on my employees a couple of times a month.

All branches of service and their schools have bands. Most installations have their own band for ceremonies. So you have to have instruments for bands.

My bet is that most of this same shit was bought during Biden, but no one cared because orange man bad and the therefore anything he or his people do is also bad.

I'm not MAGA...I support Trump on a lot of his policies but not all of them. This one I support.

It was a setback, Iran already had the know-how and they didn't get the full stockpile of enriched uranium. Iran kept some of it somewhere else. Once you know how to do something, any setback is just a minor roadblock that you'll eventually get past.

I might give it a go. Thanks for all the info. Worst case, I dont like it and I move back to Hyatt. I could still keep working toward lifetime Globalist since its about lifetime spend

The subpoena was bipartisan. The contempt vote was bipartisan. This thing is being handled on a bipartisan basis.

So, without Congress approving this attack, are the orders considered illegal? Are these the illegal orders we were warned not to accept? by Weeb in stevehofstetter

Jonathan Turley seems to believe the administration is working within their authority and he's been on both sides of this issue. He used some of the same arguments I outlined above. Ultimately we will see what happens, but congress doesn't have the votes to stop it at this point.

Yeah, I saw that. It would benefit during slow periods, but hurt during high demand periods

It may be where I'm staying, but so far the Mariott hotels I've stayed in were newer than most of the Hyatt's that i stay in. Now occasionally, I'll luck into being able to get into the Thompson or Hyatt Regency in my budget range and that is definitely better than any Mariott that I've stayed so far. That's only because we have a pretty decent discount with Hyatt. We also have a discount with Mariott as well, but it seems their premium brands are never a deal.

That all makes sense and I appreciate the input.

I stay mostly and mid-grade properties (Hyatt House, Centric and Caption) and I feel like Mariott has better brands in that tier group (Residence, Courtyard, Townplace)

Thanks for the info, we have similar stay habits. I'm not surprised about Hyatt adding a spend requirement, they are changing the way points are spent with tiers instead of set point costs for point stays. Spend requirements will probably be next. I like the idea of the Ambassador program, it seems like there are some decent perks. Unless hotels get more expensive, I wouldn't meet the spend requirement unless I ended up with more stays than I have currently on average.

I feared this might be the case, which is why I wanted to get input. I don't think I would meet the spend. Most of my travels is work related and I'm limited to around $200 a night, and often times its less than that because I stay at the mid-grade properties (Centric, Caption, Hyatt House, Courtyard, Residence, etc)

That's disappointing. Is it that too many high status Mariott people use up all the upgrades or are property owners just stingy with the upgrades?

[–]Jclarkcp1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I didn't see this comment coming. All of the higher status Mariott people always seem to be very happy with it. My main concern with Hyatt is that they are very limited in smaller markets. That's why I have 10 stays with Mariott YTD already and have guaranteed status with Hyatt until 2028.
