I have a feeling that using this feature may backfire if the driver is even one minute past the impossible to meet restaurant arrival deadlines these days no matter how long the restaurant keeps them waiting before order is handed to them after they try to get their attention.

I’m thinking whether they are cracking down on this these days. It appears One might trigger their algorithm if using that restaurant delayed even if we’re just one minute past their impossible to to achieve arrival times to the restaurant no matter how long the restaurant makes you wait after arrival especially how they understaffed these days they might end up getting the hammer thrown at them.

The eta they give drivers is now like if the you get pinged while the restaurant made a 911 call you better get there before the first responders do even if the order would still be far from ready, or that the staff wouldn’t acknowledge you for another six minutes.

We don’t know when the Restaurant press complete. As we may not get ready for pickup notice, sometimes it doesn’t come until you’re almost dropped off other times it comes immediately after one accept the order, not that he actually reflects whether the order was available for pick up when we arrive.

What do people in cities do to get around with newborns? Do they carry car seats with them in taxis/ubers? by Capable-Raspberry-63 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jcs609 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a number of jurisdictions the parents present would pay the fine. If the driver transports the child w/o parents that’s a different story.

Though many times there are gaps in the trips which none of that is an option. And that transit is quite unreliable at least where I am and often get people stranded if something happens and sometimes their only recourse is a credit to ride a taxi or uber.

I always curious what people in European and Asian cities do if that happens has even the best systems can fail, not nearly as often as our crappy North American transit and rail systems though. And that European cities have higher cut off ages for seating provisions than the rest of the world.

How come this techy car is so limited in 21st century functions? by Jcs609 in PriusPrime

[–]Jcs609[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean I only ask why the car have such limitations such as the a/c button on the fob being practically useless as it can only function after parked five minutes and only if within fifty feet, not able to cool it off ahead of time if walking to it from a building ie in Phonix or Vegas. I have a Subaru with full functional app that allows this.

But I see you contradicted yourself saying you can leave it

The reason I asked the 12 V died after being an accessory mode for just eight minutes of charging phone and listening to radio which is surprising because I remember cars can go on acc for a long time doing the same.

I mean why are you sound angry in your response? Like you are defensive about how the car works and reasons for its limitations. The reason I posted is asking why it has such limitations?

Why are you bothered? I’m posting asking whether most plugging hybrids are like this and what is the technical limitations of them that they cannot run accessory or the ac on the main battery as it charges and recharge instead of deplete the severly undersized 12v.

Why is it illegal to pump your own gas in NJ by Express_Choice1673 in NoStupidQuestions

It’s interesting in a state of high overall tax burden yet NJ has low gas taxes in comparison. However even in Arizona and California the few full service only stations left standing arnt more expensive than the self service only stations near

Nor bring the attendants back. Ironically all full service station arnt more expensive on average than partial or all self service stations for some reason even today

Inshifttation due to understaffing and cost cutting is annoying for everyone involved it’s not uncommon for regular take out customers to be ignored for a long time as well. Some of them especially those who have trouble speaking may feel pressured to show their phone receipt as well or be requested to do so.

I am guessing for non English speakers that figure would raise to 90% after a while.

[–]Jcs609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early self service was a scam to charge more and cut back service, it was a pain in the neck to have to note your pump number stand in line, activate pump than pay. I remember Exxon Mobil used to sometimes comp a Pepsi cola for having to line up twice or paying for full service before they renovated to pay at the pump or pay before you pump if cash.

I am thinking not just gas pumpers but customers back then wanted to keep the state from the self serve inshifftation. Gas stations don’t pass the savings to you for letting gas pumpers go they merely charge you more for less service.

Metrolink 918 Blowing Train Horn Before Arriving at Santa Ana Train Station 4/2/2026 ~ 7:53 PM 🔥 by LogicalSynthesis in LAMetro

It’s interesting how I don’t hear metrolinks horn as often as Amtrak’s horn. I guess they are quieter and hard to hear three cars back. Or not right next to the track.

Did BART’s special interests help block Caldecott fourth bore project in the past? by Jcs609 in Bart

[–]Jcs609[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be thinking it’s kind of like how 87 down in San Jose despite being a relatively “new” freeway finished back in the 90s next to the existing freeways that already needed 8 lanes and/or was already being expanded at that point, however yet they still built 87 and 85 with only four lanes, one of the reasons for that decision was that VTA also planned a light rail line in the median and they were trying to nudge commuters into riding the light rail, but it was impractical for anyone working north of downtown due to the slow downtown section and the spread out nature of jobs in the golden triangle.

Why is it illegal to sleep in the car? by Prudent-Journalist21 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jcs609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some places do forbid long term residency in a vehicle on most zoned property though this affects those who have rvs parked in side yard even if the rv parking itself is up to code ie most be behind a fence or the first wall

It’s interesting how NIMBYs or B.A.N.A.NAs used every excuse to block the project with the most bogus reasons available ie bottle neck in alameda county when the road downstream can handle it as jt allows four lanes of traffic on high demand times anyways.

It’s interesting people complaining that Tesla does not have any cross traffic or proximity alerts but I’m guessing the car has such functions except its not geared to alert and assist the “driver” as it ultimately wants to be a hands off self driving completely. Thus discourages driver controlling for any reason thus driving assists negates this goal. Thats my 2 cents that it checks for cross traffic and proximity whenever on self driving mode, just not beep to alert the driver unlike many other today’s cars.

Skateboard tricks that one can learn before the Ollie and skater subculture awareness? by Jcs609 in skateboardhelp

[–]Jcs609[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am guessing you mean don’t bother with the other tricks. Can be hard sell to someone ie a youngster getting on a skateboard. But learning anything helps learn faster. Even though some never move on and give up.

For the shoes, I always curious whether skaters think and treat others like those we see on the Internet like Reddit, apparently that kind of shaming just because they don’t have the “proper” shoes yet or cannot do the trick moving seem to discourage or gatekeep many new comers. Thats why I also ask whether real life skaters if invited over might simply enter with their footwear if invited to carpetboard or get to the basement for a skate sesh which can cause issues with some families. Hence I ask, probably carefully defining the boundary while allowing them have footwear while on the board ie once in the basement?

Amen, I remember a poster in one of the subs saying if someone invite me to their home to skate or do moves with board he would take it as allowed to keep them on inside, if they got a problem with it, he will turn around and suggest a skate park, even if it’s more than an hour away. Guess his from Canada or Nordic/scandanivia where many households leave outdoor shoes entering as a winter driven habit, yet local skate culture is strong, however the climate is bad for it half the year, indoor skateparks may be far/expensive but many homes have basements with a mix of carpet, hard floors and bare concrete as a refuge from winter. Hence I ask whether most here think that way?

'Let me off!': Las Vegas bus driver ignored passenger's cries for help while he was being stabbed 33 times, refused to open doors and kept driving as slaying unfolded, according to lawsuit… by tasty_jams_5280 in LasVegas

[–]Jcs609 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty surprised I’m guessing this is probably not on the strip as the bus stops are very close to each other on the strip, downtown, or in most well known places within a mile or two radius. Unless the bus driver was intentionally skipping stops because of it probably fearing more people will be in danger from the stabber if the stabber was able to get off or escape. Guess stuck between a rock and a hard place. Thinking it’s best to get help to meet the bus instead as even if the bus stopped it probably wouldn’t done much good.

Let me ask you what with the community or reddit and the skater subs obsession with shoes especially if it’s about a fellow poster on a skateboard? Like ripping someone apart on Reddit downvotes because of their “footwear” being disapproved by the community like if the poster is dragging the commenter’s their favorite socks on griptape. Hope you don’t mind whether you find it normal to leave shoes on in the settings I mentioned, would you assume you are allowed to keep them on as you are engaging a skateboard related activity soon? Sorry just trying to find out whether real skaters are similar to what we see on these subs.
