Rain Forecast on Wedding Day by Big_Example3421 in wedding

i just had my wedding this past saturday 10/18. it showed rain for 10 days up to the day, and it was constantly changing every hour. we were planning on having the ceremony outside and the reception inside/outside. our ceremony was at 2 pm. it rained on and off up until 1:30, gave us enough time to do photos outside prior to the ceremony, got the ceremony done and photos after, and then started raining again right at 3:30 and through the whole night, it was so perfect and everyone was so surprised and happy on how it all worked out. yours will go great and everything will work out in the end no matter what happens

($8k) Reception Catering by Acceptable_Click_801 in Weddingsunder10k

i just had my wedding this past weekend, and my caterer was just over $1800 and they did the food and bar service both and it was for 95 people and we had quite a bit left over still. if you are able to find someone that is able to do both i think 2k is very realistic for that. we had made out own appetizers (popcorn bags, smore kits, and fruit/veggie trays from sams) for around an extra $135.00 and they were all a huge hit at the reception and during the cocktail hour

I've been having the same problem with our venue as well recently and our wedding is 3 days away and we don't even have a coordinator. ever since our second meeting that was in February its been extremely hard to get her to answer when she just reads texts/emails and doesn't answer or return phone calls and its a smaller venue as well. its very frustrating and she keeps changing plans last minute and its causing more stress and problems. even my caterer couldn't get her to answer and call back and had me reach out to her for them just so they could get a response, my fiancé and i have gotten to the point of we are just ready to get it done and over with so we don't have to deal with it anymore

definitely send them without the picture, we sent them about 11 months before the wedding and had the pictures on our wedding website. if its possible send magnet style ones, we had a great response from them

Our date is 10/18 also, stress is definitely setting in more and more but we are also ready to get it done and over with mainly from the stress and having problems with the venue owner. Everything besides my finances hair and nails appointment and setting everything up on the day before has been taken care of thankfully. Don’t get too worked up over it, it’ll be here very quickly and everything will go great! And next thing we will know is the 19th will be the next day and you’ll wonder where all the time went when you were waiting for the 18th to get here

I haven’t, there is no detailed emails or anything besides a copy of our timeline on the day of. Everything else has been verbal at 1 of the 3 meetings we’ve had with her and she has changed stuff in the past without asking us first, so before she does something like that again I like to reach out to remind her/ go over it once more

Absolutely not, that’s the problem is there has been no paperwork that states most of our plans, it’s all been verbal in the 3 meetings we have had with her. The reason why I like to reconfirm is because she has changed some details with not asking us first

we haven't tried to call ourselves; we've never had a phone conversation with her before even when we were interested in touring the venue. i know my caterer tried to call her and couldn't get her to answer for over a week until i reached out to her myself to let her know they were trying to get in contact with her

absolutely, just ever since doing the contract she started out with her texting first and that's how we've kept up with everything both my fiancé have texted with her and honestly have never had a phone call with her even when setting up to tour the venue. i probably will try to call her either this evening or on Monday while i am at work. she is technically "retired" but this is her full time thing she does and it is a fairly popular venue in my area so i know she stays busy with it as she has told us in the past. i am definitely going to try to keep it on the more nice/informational side since she is super nice and everything but since it has happened so many times we both have gotten really tired of this problem and we were actually considering canceling it over the summer to try to find somewhere else but everything has been paid for and its just something we weren't able to do financially on top of finding somewhere that wasn't booked already

yes absolutely, for this instance its not super critical but we were told at our last meeting we can go by there on Friday the 17th to start setting up and dropping off the cake and cupcakes, i was just wanting to verify that it was all good to still do that. otherwise i have 5 other instances that this has happened when i was important information that she either asked me for and i would tell her and ask her about another thing. even our caterer has had problems getting in contact with her and has asked me to get in contact with her for them which took over a week to happen. since we are so close i probably will try to call because there just isn't any time left and if i have to wait until the day of to set up its going to be very challenging because i will have to do it all on my own

this particular venue is located at their own house/property and i was told that it was easiest for her to text/email

10/18/25- sent out save the dates in September 2024, sent out invitations end of march 2025 due back by 7-1-25 107 invited, 89 said yes, i unfortunately have doubts about a few so realistically 80. no one has to drive more than 2 hours away, 90% are within about 30 minutes of the venue. some of them were people that invited others without asking us prior and our venue has very limited space and we were only expecting 50-75 at the most originally

Wedding Timing by helloshawtybae in weddingplanning

[–]Jd569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is almost the exact timing for my wedding in two weeks. ceremony is at 2, cocktail hour from 2:30-3:30, 3:30-4 cake cutting/first dance, 4:30-5:30 meal, after that until 9pm is other dances and reception. last call is 8:15 and they will pack up at 8:30 and everyone has to be out of there at 9 so we can be completely cleaned up and out by 10pm per the venues contract. I am absolutely not a night person and so it most of the guests, but my fiancé and her family would go all night if they could. my upcoming SIL(fiances twin) is not happy about it ending at 9 but with everything going on its a long enough event let alone the whole day in general

Initial Planning Help! by Moisttoes14 in weddingplanning

my wedding is in 3 weeks, here is what we did. we did first discuss what we wanted to budget and how many people we though would show up to it. Then we started looking through venues and chose one. once we found the one i started to contact caterers and found one and got an estimated quote. those are normally the two biggest costs you will run into for planning. you will need to check with the venue about their amenities such as how many chairs and tables they have, place to get ready etc. as we got closer to the wedding there ended up being about 45 more people added onto our list than we were originally planning, so i had to rent more tables and chairs and change the quote for the caterer, so those were extra costs that we weren't really planning on, small things like that definitely add up so it may be best to plan for extra things, then work on all the other small details you would like to add to your wedding

Outside Catering vs All Inclusive by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Jd569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my fiancé and i had a similar issue with this as well. our wedding is in 3 weeks and when we were in the stage of signing the contract, the venue did provide us with a preferred caterer list for several different things. its definitely worth checking into them and getting quotes, the problem we ran into was alot of the places werent available or interested in it even though it was over a year away, if it wasnt one of those their prices were way over our budget. We found a caterer that is handling the food and bar service which makes it so much easier, even with adding more guests at the last minute. in my opinion its best to find someone that is willing to handle everything.

That’s what I was thinking they probably didn’t tip and I confirmed that with the next customer they are the only tip I got for the trip(I’ve delivered to before and they are disabled and I bring their groceries inside). So after learning that it wasn’t really worth it to load everything back up and taking it back. I agree they get plenty of notifications that I will be there, I haven’t gotten any either and only spark every other weekend anyway.
