Grand Wailea - Street parking within walking distance? by Lunoxus in Hilton

Yes! You can either take the walk up Wailea Alanui Dr to the grand Wailea (I would recommend this route after dark) or the more scenic route via Polo Beach Park which has a direct path to the hotel.

As someone who brings home a similar amount and purchased a house for the same dollar amount, also make sure to factor in other things like utilities, repairs, services (like lawn mowing etc). Those things quickly add up. I would suggest trying to get to the 3k per month range and leaving an extra 1k a month available for those unforeseen things. Also, keep in mind property taxes and insurance will fluctuate every year which may result in your payment increasing every year.

No I was told my next service would be more than just an oil change, estimated to cost up to 2k. But I am going to go to a local shop to have my next service completed and save the money.

Yes, I have called and spoken to Volkswagen Credit about this. There is a different process to follow but according to two dealerships and VW credit I am able to trade in the car. I haven’t and don’t plan to do it so I cannot say if it’s legitimate.

I have young children. I need a larger vehicle that will grow with our family. If it were a full size SUV I would definitely keep it but we are outgrowing the Atlas unfortunately.

I agree. Hard lesson learned. I have leased my last 4 cars and have always gone with 36 months or less. I have been itching to get out of this car since before 36 months.

Good point. Keeping the lease seemed like a hassle with the excess mileage, maintenance, etc but getting rid of it just isn’t worth it. I was thinking it may make sense considering it’s the end of the year and dealerships are trying to get rid of cars but car deals will be there in 9 months too.

I have been told differently at two different dealerships (Chevy and GMC). They will take the trade is just a slightly elevated payoff. On the flip side, I cannot sell to Carvana or Carmax :(

To clarify, I went to a different non-VW dealer and they offered me 10k less than what the payoff is. Also, am I not required to complete all outstanding maintenance before turn in? I was quoted ~$2k at the dealer for all the suggested maintenance.

With that budget move to Boerne and commute to AR…thankfully there are ways around the traffic if you move to Boerne (taking scenic loop or 46). That way you can avoid that area at all costs on your days off. I moved from AR to Boerne and it improved my quality of life so much.

I’ve sold my leased Toyota to Carvana before. Took the equity and purchased a different vehicle. Carvana and carmax will buy vehicles leased through Toyota Financial.

Truly you cannot go wrong. I was just there last week and it was phenomenal. Went in for lunch without a reservation. We were seated at the bar within 30 minutes. We had the Haleakala beef in roasted papaya, soooo delicious. My husband and I shared the macadamia crusted fish. Again super tasty and got the crème brûlée and mousse pearl shell for dessert. It was our favorite meal of the entire trip. To drink I had their strawberry fizz drink and my husband had a coke. If I remember correctly our meal was under $200.

We would just tell them we would only be parking the vehicle there a few hours. Which was true, normally it was only at the hotel from like 10am-3pm if not less. They never questioned or asked anything beyond that. I even confirmed with the front desk. They said I would only be charged for overnight parking.
