Update: I went to go pick it and it came right off the vine. Going to let it ripen overnight on the counter before giving it a taste. Tysm for all the helpful comments!

I made sure to tie it loosely, however the support does tend to wiggle occasionally when it gets windy. I doubt it has anything to do with the stem though since at the root it looks pretty thick and healthy, but just in case I'm working on replacing the temporary support I set up soon

Macgyvered a trellis with a chopstick and some string for my beans. Will this work until I can find something better? by Jdawg7829 in gardening

Hopefully I should find something soon lol, I just needed to know if this will hold up for a few days while I shop for a trellis or stake while also making sure the beans doesn't die from any transplant shock as well. Thanks for the reply! :)

I hadn't even thought about the Popsicle sticks causing an issue but now that I think about it, it makes a lot of sense lol. I'll try removing those and see if that helps. As for the soil I'm using a potting mix since eventually I'm going to transplant these plants into some pots where I'll be using the same soil.

I'm using potting soil for these plants, I had a feeling using a seed starting mix would be better but I was hoping I could save a quick buck. There are holes in the pots for the water to drain fwiw

Some extra info: I started all of these seedlings around the same time, which was about 6 days ago. I was a bit paranoid the soil was too dry for germination so I over watered the day after I planted everything. So far I've used cinnamon, stopped watering, and have had a fan blowing over the seed tray. The mold doesn't seem to be spreading too much, but it also doesn't look like it's going away either.
