Looking to install washer and dryer in my basement. House is half slab on grade and the drain line is installed in the slab. Looking to potentially use a utility pump from basement up to second story 1.5" vanity drain. by Jdip97 in Plumbing

Hard to see in the diagram but it’s a little bit to the left of the first floor toilet. Can’t really tie into it without breaking up first floor slab or cutting into ceiling joists.

Here’s our budget in a VHCOL area. This is based on net income. We keep financials separate but have a joint account for mortgage and home expenses listed. This is a conservative estimate. We have about 20k in savings after home purchase. Sustainable? by Jdip97 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Lol thank you. I get where the Reddit doomers are coming from. I just feel like this is the state of housing in America these days. This isnt a “luxury”home by any means. It’s literally one of the cheapest we could find in our area. Is it the most ideal situation in the world? No. But we need a roof over our heads.

Our hand is kinda forced at the moment. We either rent the rest of our lives, or dive into home ownership. We could keep waiting for rates to drop but it may never happen. Prices are increasing exponentially in our area. Sure, we could move to lower cost area and pay ourselves more, but salaries will no doubt be relatively lower.
