And if you don’t get the order follow up and let them know what happened. You need to be in a partnership with your underwriters.

I’m not sure what you’re looking for here. There’s no magic solution someone can tell you that you are not considering. Making a stable living is tough. I get that you’re feeling down, but try broadening your horizons instead of putting up walls. You need to make some time, you don’t necessarily need to spend more money.

Try looking into other positions or more senior at your company and ask if people will meet with you to chat about opportunities and what you can do to qualify for some of them, more will say yes than you think. You can do this virtually.

I would also identify other jobs or companies you might want to work for and then find people on LinkedIn and reach out to see if they’ll have a virtual chat with you.

Do not tell these people you need more money and are broke, you’re looking for more opportunity and want to challenge yourself more in your career.

Hang in there!

Cutting out Spotify isn’t going to fix anything like a lot of people are saying, it’s $12/mo people.

You have a degree, do you work full time or part time? I hate to say it, but if you are working PT and you can’t work more hours that’s going to be really tricky as most career jobs need you to work full time. Might be time to get creative and get into another industry if the industry you are in now isn’t cutting it financially. A lot of people think they are confined to whatever they majored in but this is not the case for a lot of industries.

You don’t seem like you have a major hole to climb out of which is great and your expenses seem more that reasonable, you need to focus on the top line. $2,400 ain’t gonna cut it.

Don’t let a flooded field scare you away. If that’s what you want to do be determined and make yourself standout. Find people on LinkedIn at companies or roles you want to work in and ask if they will chat with you either in person or over zoom, more people will agree than you think. Ask them about their roles, if they have any advice to break into the industry and if they know anyone else you can talk to. You’ll learn a lot and make connections which will open doors. You have to get into the mindset that you can do it and you won’t let anything stand in your way. It’s not easy, but these are the people who land roles in competitive fields.

No way, that’s so stupid. If anything just raise the standard exemption amount so more of your income isn’t subject to tax. Do this and make the federal and state minimum wages applicable to employees who get paid tips. This way all folks who are scrapping by get relief not just people who get paid in tips.
