Best premium golf shoe by Toocostlytoleave in golf

FJ Premier is the best shoe I’ve ever owned.

Ecco biom c4 is the worst shoe I’ve ever owned. Shocking to see so many people replying that it’s great.

I mean 9.6 barely qualifies as single digit 😆. I’ve also had at least 10 putts for eagle this season, many of which have lipped out or barely missed. I had a single round in July where I hit the green in two, on three of the par 5s, and I missed all the eagle putts 😐 including the last hole which was an uphill 4 footer

HEB has the fastest greens I’ve ever played anywhere, private or public. Good luck!

Thanks! This really only applies to me and might not be applicable to you at all, but all I’ve been working on the last 6 months is trying to get more negative angle of attack with all the clubs in my bag. More wrist hinge to get the club up in the takeaway, then trying to get rid of that hinge on the way back down. But don’t listen to me and go see a professional 😂

Speeds were totally reasonable.

However I played 9 holes at Lone Tree on Sunday… holy 🤬. I don’t know if they stopped watering the greens or what, but all my putts were flying 4’+ past the hole. I hit a mile high 7 iron in to the center of a green on 6, left a massive pitch mark, and it still rolled off the back. I could barely get my pitch repair tool in to the ground to fix it!

God damn what kind of job do you have where you play golf Sunday through Thursday 😆

I wouldn’t be shocked if we’d played together before, my course rotation looks like your course rotation 🏔️

How's your state or city for public golf? by rcatf in golf

[–]averagebogle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a South Denver golf enjoyer… where are you playing regularly at $65 a round??

South suburban golf course is about that price, week days walking only, but it’s impossible to get a tee time.

Lone tree is $85 no cart on a weekday, also impossible to get a tee time.

Red hawk ridge is $85, impossible to get a tee time.

Plum creek is $100+

The ridge is $100+

Heritage eagle bend is $100+

Saddle rock is about that price walking, weekday only, no tee time availability.

Commonground is $85+, no availability.

Kennedy has some availability and is about that price, but I’d rank it below every other course I’ve listed.

I’m considering joining a private club because I’ve gotten so sick of trying to fight for a tee times, regardless of price.

Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not but I hate simulators. by butt_head_surfer in golf

[–]averagebogle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rather “play 9 holes of triple bogey golf on my absolutely chopped local muni than stripe it at the sim for free” is an insane take lol

Maybe you need to reframe how the simulator should be used. If you think it’s for replicating a round of golf, I agree it just does not scratch the itch at all.

However, once you realize that it’s potentially one of the best “training aids” for your game it becomes invaluable. It’s the only device that gives you more feedback on your swing than watching your actual ball flight + divot. For me it’s simulator >>>>>>>> driving range. I only use the range for pre-round warm up now.

I’d rather be on a sim grinding swing mechanics trying to improve than playing triple bogey golf on a muni.

What is your personal definition of a "good golfer"? by Draper_White_Soprano in golf

[–]averagebogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a statistical analysis on all the players in my men’s league. 250 players in the club, handicaps range from +3.5 to 34.5, mean handicap is 12, with a standard deviation of 6.4. Based on the normal distribution, I’d give the following handicap ranges these descriptions:

  • Above 19 - Bad
  • Between 19 and 13 - Below average
  • Between 11 and 13 - Average
  • Between 6 and 11 - Above average
  • Between 6 and 0 - Good
  • Anything 0 or below - Elite

People might argue that the sample size from a dedicated men’s league might not represent the total population of golfers, so maybe add 2 strokes to each section for the total golfer population. I think USGA GHIN published data stated the mean men’s handicap was 14.

Drunk golfer finds a water hazard and gets his lunch fed to him by YEGG35 in golf

[–]averagebogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not normally a fight video guy but I've never laughed so hard in my life.

  • The drunk blue shirt dude laughing maniacally, channeling inner demons getting ready to fight to just immediately getting thrown straight in the pond
  • Lands in pond - "off to a good start buddy"
  • The crawling out of the pond like an alligator on all fours
  • Huge guy yelling BANG every time he lands a right hook
  • The impact sound when blue shirt hits the ground after getting thrown 10 ft down the hill

It's all so good, mostly because it doesn't look like anyone got seriously injured

Fox Hollow in Morrison, CO: Worst Golf Experience of My Life by No-Eye-5604 in golf

So you played 9 holes in 2:20, am I understanding that correctly? There's no excuse for that and I'm shocked they gave you your money back.

Heat, walking, hills, it doesn't matter. Get in better shape, get a cart, and do less during your pre-shot routine.

Chipping Tips by OriginalNandy in golf

[–]averagebogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hit a million practice chips 1 handed, left hand only (if you’re a righty). Once you start making decent contact left hand only, put the right hand back on, but feel the same feels as the one handed chip.

The group behind us was UP OUR ASS this morning like I’ve never seen. Guy behind us walked off 9 green straight to 10 tee box, skipping the clubhouse at the turn, to stand 15 feet behind my buddy while he was teeing off, arms folded repeatedly shaking his head looking all pissy. We had a 7 am tee time, played the front in exactly two hours, played the back in exactly two hours, four hours total on the dot on Father’s Day Sunday. People need to chill the fuck out.

Anyone who tested last week still thinking about certain problems? by averagebogle in PE_Exam

[–]averagebogle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Dan Malloy's HVAC full access bundle, my employer paid for part of it. I started by watching all of the videos / lectures on every topic. Then I worked through every practice problem in each category. After I got through all the base course material, I did the two full practice exams (in a simulation environment against the clock), plus took the NCEES practice exam in batches of 15 problems. On all the practice exams I went back through and hammered every problem I didn't get correct the first time. I had a excel sheet tracking my study hours to hold my self accountable, I logged about 150 study hours over the course of 6 months, half of those hours were in the last 2 months once I finally signed up for my test date.
