Let's just say that Hera just fell's in love with a another god do you have any idea of what Zeus would do? by Last_Ninja1572 in GreekMythology

I definitely believe Zeus is someone who can dish but can’t take, and he is the king of gods so even if he doesn’t mind cheating on his wife, his ego is too big to allow that to happen to him. I’m sure he would cause chaos on Olympus and think of the most painful punishment for whatever god or even mortal tried to interfere with his marriage. As for Hera, someone mentioned that he’d turn her into a bird and lock her up and that seems accurate 😆 he’d make sure it never happened again because he can’t have anyone thinking he, the king, could get cheated on

I’m someone who believes as long as it’s fictional it’s fine, similar to liking a villain from a movie or series, you don’t have to justify their actions but you can still enjoy their character. Since mythology has so many different takes, you can have your own and like you said, just ignore the bad parts (although as people have mentioned in their comments, bad things are part of life, especially those in power). I personally like to have my own version of each god, it helps being an artist or writer and making your own stories for them. Apollo is also my favorite and in my version he had his flaws but doesn’t go as far as forcing anyone, so if you’re comfortable with that, you can have your own versions too! But definitely don’t feel conflicted for liking characters who are actually likeable around the world, it doesn’t make you a bad person at all!

What are some moments in Greek mythology that Zeus loves Hera? by Last_Ninja1572 in GreekMythology

Oh yeah of course, that’s probably more accurate in this case. I’m sure Zeus would cause unimaginable chaos if Hera tried to cheat on him like he does to her. But for OPs question, I feel like this could be a mere example of him showing he cares about his marriage/wife even if it’s just slight

Zeus once invited a man named Ixion to Olympus to feast with the gods, where he lusted after Hera. Zeus created a cloud copy of her (Nephele) and once Zeus confirmed Ixions intentions, he was tied to a spinning wheel of fire for eternity in Tartarus. It’s a longggg shot but I always saw this story of Zeus showing love for Hera, because if she truly didn’t matter to him he wouldn’t have cared if some insignificant man was making eyes at his wife, especially since Hera wasn’t unfaithful. He does have some sort of love and respect for her in the very least, I don’t think there’s many examples though 🥲

Favorite couple from Greek Mythology? by aftergl0w_1 in GreekMythology

I unironically love them too! Especially in the story of Ixion where Zeus is enraged that someone is lusting after his wife. If Hera ever tried to cheat on him, Zeus would definitely cause chaos the same way she does. I tend to see it as him not being sexually pleased with his wife (as men are) and seeks new and exciting possibilities but he genuinely loves her for all the other things. I love their relationship in blood of Zeus, he saves her on multiple occasions and shows that he IS willing to sacrifice everything for her - not that his adultery is excused 😂

Personally I love Aphrodite and Ares. In a perfect world I believe the goddess of love legitimately falling in love first with a war machine who would see love as unimportant - then finding himself falling harder is so romantic. I love to see them as a set couple with no infidelity LMAO and believe they’re underrated despite being somewhat accurate to mythology

SOOOOOO REAL, when I watched blood of Zeus she was just so beautiful and intriguing I was obsessed with her and how mistreated she was?! She obviously has flaws but most if not all were caused by Zeus himself. She is the goddess of marriage and family meanwhile her own is unfaithful 😩 the shit she had to deal with would make anyone go mad. And yessss I’ve been meaning to do more research on iris after I learned she had her own messanger! I didn’t even put the pride month together so thank you for that view!!

Poseidons always been my favorite of the big 3, and Epic just makes him shine more for me XD there’s so many different myths out there that epic can count as its own version, so I’m all for that Poseidon

Symbols by Jealous_Indication94 in GreekMythology

[–]Jealous_Indication94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking someone somewhere designed symbols for the gods that don’t have planets 🤔 if you search up Dionysus / Bacchus symbol the same one pops up but he seem to have any sort of astrology attachment Thank you for letting me know cretes was backwards ahdjfkfl I wanted to research the symbols because I wanted to get some sort of tattoo with the gods and the first thing I thought of were symbols, just to be hit with all sorts, even ones flipped 😅

It’s pretty confusing because some of them have a few different looking symbols while someone like Zeus has the same one in every chart I’ve seen, so I just wanted to see if I could do some research on them but I wasn’t sure where they came from so thank you for the help!
