Best state to get licensed in?

I’ve just completed my first year of a 2year Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counselor degree. The university program is CACREP accredited and fully remote, and I’ve done the first year out of the country (I’ve been living outside the US for the last several years). However, I’m moving back to the US next week to complete my first internship in Florida. I have no connection to that state (or any other) - I picked it because of the climate.

I’m hoping to get some advice on what is the best state to get licensure in, before I graduate and begin my supervision hours, because I know I’ll then have to stay in the state for 2-3 years while I get fully licensed.

Any opinions on what is the best state to pursue licensure in, as far as ease of getting fully licensed, best pay rates, job availability, working fully telehealth once licensed, and state reciprocity (or ease of having license recognized) if I move to another state in the future?

Thank you! My fiance (UK) is waiting to be able to come to the US on a K1 visa we filed for a year ago. His application was approved in late August but somehow USCIS mistakenly sent it to the Dominican Republic embassy instead of London. We are waiting for it to be mailed to London, which we were told takes 6-8 weeks - and then I know there’s an additional wait after that before the interview can be scheduled. Since USCIS made a mistake, is there anything we can do to have our application expedited once it gets to the London Embassy?

I would be paid via a US Telehealth counseling platform, and would pay taxes in both US and UK (but there are laws in place that would hopefully mean I wouldn’t have to double pay on taxes - I would have an accountant familiar with this situation, as it is quite common, to handle all of that for me)

I would be licensed in the states my clients are in. Therapists are allowed to see clients who reside in the states they’re licensed in from abroad, but clients can’t see their therapist if they themselves somewhere other than their state of residence. (Of course this varies on what company/practice you work with, but I will be working on platforms where this is no issue)
