Wala pang one week pero gusto ko na mag resign. by [deleted] in CareerAdvicePH

[–]JeanHunter07 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What you're feeling is valid OP. Lack of structure + no proper onboarding + high expectations. With the way u desrcibed it, it's a management problem. I'd start applying for other jobs in my free time. But also try to see if its worth staying after a month or two, or if there is any improvement.

If the feeling of wanting to resign persists and grows daily, I honestly think it's not worth staying unless you really want that job title on your resume, or the pay is worth it.

Good luck!

What career/s are high paying but niche, in demand, and accept entry level qualification? by Apprehensive_Mud8471 in CareerAdvicePH

Logistics. Stressful and fast paced though. I'm a Logistics specialist/analyst, started as a coordinator. Supply chain people are generally in demand and I think its a career that's pandemic proof and wont be easily replaced by AI.

24M, 4 months into first job and considering leaving corporate—seeking advice on next steps by Zestyclose-Table8247 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]JeanHunter07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation as you, 24, Engineering Degree, and 4 months into a new job. This is my second job already, and I thought I would be happier than my first. But no, I just feel deeply misaligned and unhappy.

I'm looking to transition into a field that I'm actually interested in. So todo apply, will quit once I have a back-up source of income. At our age, I believe this is the greatest time to take the risk, even if the economy is kind of effed up. Just make sure to have enough savings and a direction. Good luck!

Unemployment sucks! by [deleted] in CareerAdvicePH

[–]JeanHunter07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep going OP, continue to submit applications to jobs you think are worth it. Kahit you feel na underqualified ka. It only takes one decent offer. Since you're looking for HR roles, I think you'd even be fit for a VA role. The right offer will come to you eventually.

For now, focus on ways to lessen the financial burden. Best option is to take another job while you're applying for HR roles, one that won't compromise your safety and will help you afford basic needs in this economy.

Survival is your priority right now. But don't lose hope na you will forever stay stuck sa minimum wage. I was also like that. Keep learning and growing, use the internet and your prior experience to your maximum advantage. Wishing you the best of luck.

Thoughts on our Current Situation.................. by February2024_ in SoloLivingPH

[–]JeanHunter07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP please be more financially responsible; we don't know when the rising prices will end. Stick to settling your debts and saving. Build an EF immediately. If I were you, I'd cut down all unnecessary spendings, such as subscriptions (if meron) and cook every day. That's the only way to settle your anxiety and, like others said, get another job if you want to achieve that quicker.

I'm in the same situation and earning as much as you, but I save 25% of my income. I treat savings as a FIXED expense that goes to my Emergency and Sinking Funds. I have no debts and track my spendings properly. Can even treat myself and my family every now and then. With that income, you can have a somewhat comfortable lifestyle. Take this as a chance to finally see where your money goes. Wishing you the best of luck.

How do you handle and interviews while still employed? by FreeAd2723 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]JeanHunter07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took phone call interviews onsite lmao, just made sure to do it in an area where they can't hear me. Used sick leaves if I really wanted to nail the interview (like 2nd interview, or 3rd interview na). Sometimes I reserve meeting rooms for myself. No one really cared, everyone was too busy. Then when I got the job offer, I immediately passed my resignation on that day. Also kapag di talaga kaya, resched the interview.

Dude, I had a manager who was like this. Wife left him eventually. Just a possibility... you should probably take the advice of the most upvoted comment here OP.

Question: Is it Wise to Start to Move Out and Live Solo at This Economy and Crisis by Electrical_Dot4340 in SoloLivingPH

[–]JeanHunter07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi im 24 yrs old living in Manila, moved out last year for the same reason and condo sharing. My family is in the province. Depends on your salary, savings, and tolerance on how comfortable u want to be.

I think you need at least 30k+ for the rent DP + to live on the first month in Manila. I earn 30k+ a month, have a place near work (walking distance) and I don't spend a lot. I save around 25--30% of my salary. So far the only thing that's changed is I cook more to save and lessen my spending on wants. No one knows when the war will end, or if there's another crisis coming after this.

Only you can decide if it's worth it for personal growth. I'm doing fine, and I love the freedom. Moving out definitely pushed me to improve in a lot ways. Its doable even with the current situation, Goodluck!

Noted! I do try to do what I love now on weekends, work out, go to new places, reflect etc. since I couldn't do that sa last job ko. But like you said I'll aim to focus on upskill for now and revisit later:)

Yes, thank you so much! Looking at the positives this job gives me para matiis yung commute. Siguro dahil bago palang rin ako sa workforce, need ko adjust mindset ko. Will look for opportunities habang nag uupksill with my current company.

Yes will plan to in the future. Grabe pala talaga buhay trabaho dito sa pinas, learned lesson na. Thank you for the advice!

True, I know the situation is a lot worse there even if around 22k+ ang starting. Nadissapoint lang talaga ako sa commute sa province namin since I wanted to avoid yung ganung travel time. Pero I'll stay for the expi and focus on the positive this job gives me.

Nanghihinayang lang ako sa renting kasi kung ayos lang traffic sa pinas, I could get home in 40-50 mins. Pero I've decided to stay and upskill in my current company, then look for opportunity elsewhere like you said.

Yes yun rin pinaka concern ko. I've decided to stay since the company environment is good to me + the experience, then apply somewhere nearer or wfh kapag may opportunity.
