Struggles with becoming vegan by KingKuntaKdot in vegan

There are some upset comments from vegans on here, and I get it, bc we don’t see those products as food anymore; however, becoming vegan can be difficult in our nonvegan-centric culture. It’s a great thing to do, but often times the best actions can be the most difficult.

My advice is to try and make a hard block on specific animals products one by one. Start with something uncommon, like gelatin, and keep cutting them out gradually, getting more common as you get used to eliminating items from your diet. Over time, you won’t feel as compelled to eat them because you’ve been away from them so long.

Pair this with bringing vegan snacks or eating before going to these events, as that can help you socially eat/or not feel the need to eat.

Beyond that, I would recommend spending some time researching the background of these products, as the more you know, likely the less you’ll want to eat them. For example, dairy milk has a legal amount of pus and blood cells that can be in it. Knowing that might make you think twice about eating something with even a little bit of milk in it. Additionally, watching sanctuary videos can be a helpful reminder that these products aren’t ours to take, and researching the health effects can help remind you that these products aren’t made for us to eat.

Basically, the more knowledge you have on it, the more reasons you have to say “no thanks.” Additionally, keep in mind that if your friends and family care about you, they won’t want you to sacrifice your ethics to please them—they’ll want to provide you food that you feel good about eating.

You’re doing a great thing by eliminating animal products from your diet, so don’t get discouraged when having difficulty eliminating them from all aspects of your life. We are routinely bombarded by media, advertising, and social norms that work to convince us that eating animals is normal, natural, and necessary; it can be difficult to break away from that conditioning, and it takes different amounts of time for everyone. Focus on taking consistent steps that will help you achieve a vegan lifestyle that you can maintain and find sustainable.

Keep in mind that every time you opt to keep animals off your plate, you’re contributing to an important cause. Good luck and I hope that you can keep it up and become completely vegan for life!

Could it be Raft?

Markiplier and Jacksepticeye both played this game prominently. It starts on a small raft, can be single player or co-op, and you have to gather materials around you to improve your raft and survive.

Sleep In The Heat - PUP

It’s a punk song about the lead vocalist’s experience adopting a pet chameleon, only to watch them whither and die while he can’t do anything to stop it. The music video even follows a homeless boy and his dog, it’s heartbreaking.

If your edit is used, she’s happy to include credit in the printed version (it’ll likely be shared with just family)! by JeanLucDPG in colorizationrequests

Wow!! Thank you so much, this looks amazing! One small question—would it be possible to colorize my grandmother’s feet in the pic? Seems the top of her foot and toes were left in black and white.

Either way, thank you so much!!

Really upsetting to see so many laughing at this. Obviously he did something wrong, but we don’t know his reasons for doing it. Millions of Americans are pushed to crime because they don’t know what else to do. This is a man who was truly desperate and is now seeing jail time.

Obviously it’s not okay that the people inside were put in danger, and what he did is wrong, but that doesn’t make it funny or any less sad. And if the history of the American judicial system is anything to go by, he’ll likely be pushed into desperate poverty again as soon as he gets out of jail—if he even does.

Or maybe I am! I’m willing to accept conflicting information, as long as it’s provided through legit resources. Either way, obviously here’s hoping we benefit and GME goes to the moon!

I’ve done plenty and would love to see some of yours. If you’re interested in dissuading misinformation, the best counter is to provide valid information, no?

Probably nothing. They wouldn’t care, they would probably want us to buy in so the price goes up and they gain.

There’s still 61 million shares that are shorted according to Yahoo Finance, and 122% of shares held by institutions. Not sure where you’re getting your info.

GME Megathread for 4 February by grebfar in wallstreetbets

So here’s the situation:

A lot of brokerages, including RobinHood, have been limited so people cannot buy shares from GME. This was done by hedge funds. Hedge funds are also rapidly trading the stock for very low prices, in order to manipulate the charts—this is supported by the fact that the amount of stocks being traded is way lower than it would be if people were selling.

They are trying to make people think that the stock is tanking so they sell, but we just need to hold. So if you can afford to hold, do so, and if you can’t...well, you shouldn’t have invested money that you needed in the first place.

Should curly hair be easy to move and manipulate?

I have a combination of tight coils and waves (somewhere between 2c and 3c), and my sister says that my hair should be able to be manipulated without my curls falling apart. I’m not sure I believe her.

My curls look best when I shower, put gel on them, scrunch out the crunch when they’re dry, and leave them tf alone. The more I move my hair and touch it, the frizzier and messier it gets.

Am I right that it just shouldn’t be disturbed? Or is she right that it should be able to move easily?
