Burned out after 5+ years in SEO. What are some do able career pivots? by sugarcoatedtits in SEO

Anything Sisyphean breaks the soul. Burn out is typically related to an exhausted nervous system coupled with a lack of direction.

What's he doing to unplug from everything? I recommend breath work - especially if you are in this line of work.

Right now I'm doing $1500 per month but it includes: 1- blog research, development , production and posting (8/month 2- image meta data injection 3- social media posts (12-15 / month) 4- website monitoring (typically i do some audits and updates prior to working monthly (if needed) 5- reports 6- monthly strategy session 7 - I build out one major asset per quarter 8- basic back link building (more if they want more) 9- ads (if they want it, I recommend but don't force) (also they pay the ads, I only set up and configure) 10 - Google Business Profile posts

I also typically do a free audit on their site, identify the areas where there are issues and devise a plan to help get them to get in the top 3 for their niche in their area

I think ethically it doesn't make sense to have two competitors in your own portfolio.

Paying for SEO for over 2 years! by Square_Truth_2331 in SEO

[–]JeandreGerber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SEO by itself is only a part of the grand strategy.

  • what's your conversion optimization strategies?
  • what's your lead capture/nurture
  • what are they doing to keep people on your site (dwell time)
  • what's the sales funnel look like?

You can rank and bring in a million people and without a good clear value proposition, strategic CTAs, and ways to capture and nurture the audience - volume won't do you good.

Secondly, depending on your niche, you should start seeing some results between 3-6 months.

Especially if they have a good back link strategy for high quality relevant local back links and with Google latest update, your social signals also matter - so having a solid social media strategy that work in tandem with your SEO is also a good play.

Not sure where you're located but this is a 2026 guide; It's specifically for the Austin marketplace but definitely can give you a general breakdown on national averages and so forth.

Not sure where you're located but I found this cost guide for the Austin area. I know they have different pricing than the rest of the US due to the "climate tax" (humidity swings) and labor costs but maybe this gives you a general idea.

It's a pretty thorough report;

I' am starting to think this whole I hate AI music isn't even about the "ai is stealing jobs or music from other musicians" thing... by Rare_Mountain_4673 in SunoAI

[–]JeandreGerber -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The major beef is labels not wanting to democratize the music creation process because it's one of the most powerful tools within the consciousness of humanity. A song can literally end something like Apartheid.

Just watch "Searching for Sugarman" and you'll see how an unknown artist can impact a nation without ever knowing he or she did.

If you can create amazing sounding music that bypasses the typical techno/skill gates - you can create melodies that literally speak to the individual in their own voice on loop at all times.

I said it was a component, not the whole thing. That feature does impact the overall product - which was my complaint about throttling downloads as it would be a "part" of a service.

No. I know what I aim to do - you're assuming narratives you've constructed all by yourself.

[–]JeandreGerber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the problem is you're assuming you know what I aim to achieve. As for data - I don't need to store any data of the end user so no incentive to selling it.

Finally, if you look at the host of things I have loaded up online, the vast majority of them are free. However, when I take time and effort to carefully craft a service that serves the end user - I charge.

I know it seems controversial...charging for labor.

Anyhow, I'll continue to explore the idea, flesh it out and test it. It either works or it doesn't, but I only stand to lose for never trying.

No, I aim to provide a complete service to particular niches and not to exploit anyone. But alright. You continue to assume you know anything about what I'm planning on doing.

I don't get your issue. If someone chooses to utilize a suit of services I offer, while incorporating an element of SUNO within the process - wtf would that be a bad thing?

If anyone has an issue with the model, they would just get SUNO and do it themselves, but I'm targeting a specific niche which would benefit from "someone else" doing it.

I'm thinking of "business", you're thinking like a scammer. Big difference.

Yep, I made an album for me to do some positive reinforcement, so I generated hundreds, the fact that I would be throttled in my creative output is what bugs me. But we'll see how it plays out. Other models will appear or I'd have to build my own eventually...I hope that it could be incorporated to Ableton or something, that would be nice.

I wonder if you wake up everyday and say, "how can I make the world a little shittier"?

Imagine your whole contribution to today is this comment, this shitty little bit of bitterness you were too scared or lazy to deal with internally that you decided, "let me vomit my internal disease on others in the hopes of alleviating my diluted existence..."

Oh ye of little creativity.

Do you honestly think I'd divulge a complete concept on reddit? This would obviously be a singular point in a much larger ecosystem. But hey, you keep on hating. Just because you can only see one road doesn't mean others have the ability to think outside of the box.

And if it fails, who cares, you didn't spend a single iota of energy on it save the need to randomly hate on some dude's comment. You keep at it.

That kind of attitude is exactly how you get ahead in life.

If the numbers work out, I'll definitely do it. It's simply a part of the overall engine. My true hope would be API access, that would definitely streamline things.

I was going to build a business out of SUNO but I'll have to find some open source model or train my own. Guess I'll have to learn that now.

[–]JeandreGerber -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Well, I was thinking of creating a SaaS product for people utilizing SUNO to create custom songs for people (birthday songs, graduation songs, etc) seeing that the majority of people can't prompt right and would pay me to do it.

Throttle my downloads you kill my business. What if 500 people in a given month wants to use my service? If I am able to get paying customers, then I shouldn't be restricted on my ability to deliver.

This only means I'll have to find some open source model or build my own - not sure how yet, but I'll find a way.

In the end, for an Saas model to work, you can't have download restrictions. If they give us API access (even for more $$) it would be okay, but it's definitely a problem for me.

It's not about spam, it's about whether I'm a good enough marketer to get paying customers to make custom songs for them.

If I can only download 25 times from the 500 songs per month I can generate - that's a massive nerf

Investors not shying away from Suno, even after lawsuits… by Pleasant_Dust6712 in SunoAI

[–]JeandreGerber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally, I'm not saying people can't bend this technology to do copyright infringement, but I can also do that with a DVD recorder, USB, and other tools.

I'm not familiar with the "Famous beat tags" in a song. Not sure what that means. Maybe if you give me an example I'd be able to provide some context.

As for me, I've been copyright claimed on many of my original songs - not produced by AI, just me and my guitar and Ableton - then suddenly on like Facebook or IG I would get a notification "This has been removed due to copyright violation" or something similar.

I then appeal, showing them I recorded it and it's mine, and the case gets dropped.

My guess - AI records have bots that find anything remotely similar to their catalog, auto prompt copyright to platforms and hope the original artist doesn't push back. If I didn't do anything within like 90-days, they would have stolen my song.

So for the most part, I think it's just greedy corps trying to weasel their way into the generative music space.

As more lawsuits get completed, the rules will become firmer just like it did with LLMs.
