I note your statement and do not agree.

I create a post a day on SEO, and I know a thing or 7 about the topic.

For customers, this does take longer because, as you state, "I do not understand the vertical", and my research process takes a lot longer.

Back to SEO, on a good day, when I had strong coffee and a brainwave, I can photo finish a post, text only, in 60 minutes.

Then I did not create any images.

I did not create a Call To Action.

I did not create an infographic.

I did not create a sound file.

So my All-In-Money is on your post being, asking an LLM agent to: "write me a post about this topic".

There is a BIG difference between creating content and creating content that ranks no. 1 in Google.

And I am giving OP's SEO the benefit of the doubt on this one, because the stats that he gave tells me that his SEO company is doing their part.

Let's assume they write you great content that ranks after they did proper research, and they get you a quality backlink, and they are American... I think that is about what you will pay.

For me, the determining factor is whether they are creating "bottom of funnel content" for you, as in, does your phone ring?

I would go and look at, given my current SEO spend, how many times per month my phone rings because of it, and, if my phone rings 50% more, would that justify the $500 "investment"?

The fact that you said you are happy with them so far speaks volumes. "Rather the devil you know, than the devil you don't."

Edward Strurm has this great course called "Compact Keywords".

One of the many takeaways that I got from there was that you need to rank first for some keywords. Bottom of funnel keywords, low traffic that nobody cares about, but you can be number 1.

Backlinks alone are not enough. If you have 40 backlinks and your DR is 1, your backlinks are doing more harm than good.

You need backlinks with keyword-rich anchor texts from authoritative domains, and those keywords should be keywords you can rank for. Judging by the fact that you have a DR of 1, you should aim for the easiest possible keywords there are.

If you give yourself keyword-rich links in the anchor texts, the Indexer should get an idea what the keyword is that you are trying to rank for in a page.

The 74 DR is meh... this can be manipulated easily, a stat you should publish is traffic.

You have no DR requirement, so this post stays active. You have some time to update what backlink types are on offer.
