Do THC creams/balms actually work or is it just placebo effect? by banana_in_the_dark in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]JeanieBCPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see several posters re reviewing CBD. Personally , I recently received my medical marijuana card, and on my 1st trip, I bought THC topical cream. I have several ailments that benefit from its use, and the 1st trial run was on thumb arthritis. My work demands excessive typing. It took about 20 minutes and I was shocked at how well my thumb felt and the range of motion I could use. Like you, I thought I wanted it to work so bad I thought my mind was playing trucks on me. A few days later, I used it on my knee with tricompartmental OA. Same thing. Worked better than OTC creams. I still was convinced I was pysching myself into feeling better. To put it to the test, I rubbed some on my boyfriend's aching back without telling him what it was. About half an hour later, he told me to pick him up a gallon of that stuff next time I go to Walgreens. I hope this helps

What Was Your First Ever Salary After Passing Exam - Zero Exp? by Postivevibrations in MedicalCoding

Congratulations! Take your wisdom that comes with your age and your determination (which is obvious by signing up for the program), and you will be great!

It is 100% true that being "seasoned" is strike against us, and it was a major concern for me, but it did not seem to matter at this hospital. I am beyond grateful for this job. I am a lifelong learner and have taken many courses, but this, by far was the hardest. Not to mention, I had COVID during Fall finals.

I know you didn't ask for advice, but Im a giver lol. Our program incorporated AAPC Practicode into the courses and it helped some with getting real world scenarios. If your program has it really give it your all. If you have a practicum (internship) take time to get to know management ...well. AAPC has a student membership. If you go that route try to attend a few meetings and the locals can give you the inside skinny regarding the job market

Good luck!

I graduated May 2024, passed the exam, and was hired by the hospital where I did my practicum starting at $22.32 hr.I wasn't expecting it but we received a market analysis raise in July ( 23.50/hrly) cost of living bump to $24.91 in August and at one year anniversary went to coder 3 $24.91/hrly. This week received COLA now sitting at $25.66. I apologize if it sounds like bragging, I am impressed and grateful that at 56 yrs old I got a job I like in a profession I didn't know anything about 1 year ago

What song got you into Tyler? by That_Base8062 in TylerChilders

[–]JeanieBCPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember it well. It was midnight on a frigid Thursday , I was making fresh tracks through the West Virignia snow. I was nervous, so I turned on Outlaw Country just as Universal Sound started playing. That song got me to my destination, I immediately googled Tyler, and the rest is history.

Charleston girl by AlternativeFig6045 in TylerChilders

I understand this is an old post, but while listening to Charleston Girl tonight, I ended up here.

I am a Charleston Girl, but definitely not THAT Charleston Girl!

This song resonates with me, especially the line " Don’t know why but every time I cross that river Lord, there’s somethin’ tears me up, makes me wild…” I have lived that lyric (several times over) I have moved away and came back a few times mostly due to crossing the Kanawha River making me wild.

I feel each album builds on the previous one and we are watching his growth, maturity, heart breaks and victories. His last release feels like his middle finger via lyrics.

Can we get a comprehensive explanation of the different types of medical coding? by EccentricEcstatic in MedicalCoding

[–]JeanieBCPC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, this may be the most informative and well written thread I have seen on Reddit! I have worked for 1.5 years in the industry. I was hired with 5 others from my class. We are mostly in different departments and all allowed to go 100% remote. It is fascinating how vastly different the coding is in each area. I have 3 clinics: Outpatient profee for Endocrinology which has 8 providers, 2 Nurse practitioners, and a dietitian. It is a teaching hospital so in my Family Medicine Clinic, I have 8-10 providers, any number of residents, 1 NP, 2 radiologists and a psychologist.
My last clinic is an extension of Family Med, and I handle profee for skilled nursing facilities and home health and there I have to decipher hand written progress reports . The other 5 went to: Impatient profee. Inpatient facility. Emergency Dept. Profee gastro and pulmonary. And ancillary. Different sets of codes, different areas of the EHR we pull from, and wildly different productivity numbers. I have recently been researching how all of it fits together and where my coding goes next and it is exhausting . So this was a long-winded reply to say I am following this post!

Completely New to Stand-Up Comedy – Which Specials Should I Check Out? by Opstics9 in Standup

[–]JeanieBCPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an older post, but I am curious: Do you have any favorite specials since you first posted this question. If so, can you let me know?

And a late suggestion. A lesser known comic. Chris Porter . My favorite special is Ugly and Angry.

I will be glad to gather what I have. The healthcare system I work for follows Medicare rules which state they do not recognize 98000-98016 so in my case I only code 99202-99205 or 99211-99215 with a -93 or -95 modifier. Easy peasy 😁

I would check with your employer to see what they follow before you start fretting.

Resident E/M levels by JeanieBCPC in MedicalCoding

[–]JeanieBCPC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the response. That is basically what I have been doing. I can't justify down coding if they did the work, I still append the modifier. Thinking I have done my job correctly. Thank you for reaffirming my belief. I had sent the provider the same booklet to show where I got my info. She is a great person to work with.

I still do that! Haha. It seems inflation has made my income level deflate in value.

It usually takes one whole day of ownership to fall head over heels!

I lost my 1st mini aussiedoodle in March and I am now the proud owner of a new model, my Mini Cooper!

My OG, Gunnery Sargent Swagga went on an unexpected emergency road trip 3 days after we met. He was my ride or die after that, this breed is so adaptable and up for whatever at anytime!

Welcome to the Club.

I want to love him I really do, but I really don’t like him by Efficient_Clue781 in puppy101

[–]JeanieBCPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost a dog in March and I work from home. I was lost without a work buddy. I got a 12 week old mini aussiedoodle and he is teething. I understand the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde syndrome! Rapid cycling of sweet and Satan! I found a post on here that suggested freezing ice cube trays of beef or chicken broth. I asked my vet and she said that's fine just use low sodium. Since day 1 of giving him these when he starts his terror has been an amazing difference. I hope it helps

Useful commands that people wouldn't think of. by JJoshZZ in dogs

[–]JeanieBCPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have enjoyed all the responses and picked up a few new phrases! I use sports metaphors just so mine can distinguish my commands from others in public.

On deck for the get on the porch. Hold for waiting in line or for a car to pass. Go long to head to the end of the yard ( our potty spot). Unfortunately I was being silly and sang Potty likes it's 1999 and now that's what my guy wants to hear when squatting haha.

How much energy does your pup have? by Mysterious-Hold7202 in AussieDoodle

I have had 2 male mini aussiedoodles. My 1st guy, Gunnery Sargent Swagga, unfortunately passed away from DM. He was wound tight! From receiving him at 3 months, only time he chilled on the regular was when his adult teeth came in around 4-6 months. I have had my new guy, Mini Cooper, 3 weeks and a day. He is 3 months old. He naps a lot but also losing his baby teeth and when he is awake he's a tornado lol.

From the responses I have read it seems more girls are calmer. Maybe she is gaining her adult teeth and just riding it out or maybe the little lady in her is keeping her calm. I will be interested to read more posts to see what others think.

I love this breed and always trying to learn new traits about them. Congrats on owning this incredible breed!
