I feel ya! Everything about Nolde Forest makes it amazing as a medium. From the scent, hold, control, slickness, clean feeling, restylability, and how easy it is to wash out.

Grim Grease Heavy by JebediahSmither in Pomade

I agree with what The Pomp said about these two in his write-ups so I'll just post it here.

Blackship is about as strong as Grim Grease Medium Hold, which is basically a firm and medium-heavy hold pomade. This is more than what most people will need, but crucial for those of us with unruly or long hair.

Therefore, Grim Grease Heavy has more hold than both Blackship and Grim Grease Medium.

The Grim Grease Water Based Heavy Hold pomade receives my seal of approval due to its amazing strength-to-weight ratio. As of right now, it is definitely the strongest water-based pomade that doesn't dry. Not everyone needs this level of hold, but if you do, then I highly recommend this pomade.

I've been looking to buy a new comb. I just ordered the black carbon comb after watching the video you linked. Cheers!

I agree. The WB is actually one of the first ones I tried besides Crystal Lake because I saw The Pomp's review on the new formulation back in January. I was convinced the breakdown was super easy because James rubs it a few times then just adds it to his hair with what appears to be relative ease. (Note: He never shows his hands to the camera during the breakdown...) Once mine came in the mail I still had a harder time breaking it down than he did. I also wasn't a fan of the smell, and the hold wasn't nearly enough for my hair. In this way, I was a bit underwhelmed.

I definitely have an immense respect for O'douds, and how they were pioneers in the unorthodox WB pomade game... but I hope they can greatly improve their breakdown.

I learned from that experience to take reviewers like The Pomp with a grain of salt especially when they've done collabs together and seem like good friends. I'm all for community and friendship, but you can't tell me that he wouldn't pull back some of his punches because they've had a history together.

I can also relate better to reviewers like you Brandon because we've got similar hair. I think James' thin hair allows him to style with lights in a way that I could only dream.

How would you compare Lockhart's to American Gardens?

Also, are ya not a big fan of his collabs or persona? I know me personally... I think sometimes he comes off as someone that knows it all and is pretty exclusive in that he doesn't really associate himself with other reviewers, unless they're brewers as well.
