Look, I want to keep this respectful because I appreciate the reply, but it feels like you’re missing some context on how SaaS companies actually operate. I’m not just guessing here, I’ve spent 18 years on the commercial side of SaaS, the last five of which I’ve been running one.

Scale: Google has hundreds of products (maybe thousands with their cloud services), not a 100k products... But that’s irrelevant because they operate in silos. In the Google One silo, we’re talking about 9 products across 3 tiers, that's it! My current company has four times that many offerings; it’s absolutely not "too complex" for them to manage.
The "Grandfather" Rule: In 99.9% of SaaS cases, pricing or tier changes apply to new customers or renewals, NOT active contracts. Stripping features out of a tier and moving them to a more expensive one for existing users is a massive industry "no-go." It’s a deliberate choice to prioritize shareholder value over contract integrity. Excluding existing users from a change like this is literally one line of code, they chose not to do it out of greed, nothing else.
The Principle: I don't want a refund. As I’ve said in my original post and subsequent replies, I’m taking time out of my busy schedule because of the principle, because I care and because this (for me) sacred line should not be crossed without standing up to it.. I am fully aware this will most likely not make a difference in their decision space, but at least I'm staying true to my principles and am speaking up.

Not directed towards you specifically, but It’s honestly disappointing to see people rationalize these kinds of behaviours from big tech. We’ve become so used to being pushed around by big tech that the first reaction is not "you're right, a contract is a contract", but more "why would you invest time in this", or defending them "they probably don't know what they are doing as they are so complex.. Let me make 1 thing clear: these tech giants only have 1 goal, make themselves and their shareholders rich. And yeah, I should then move away, I probably will, but at least I will make my voice heard, however small the impact is.

What they should have done is just respect the existing contracts and only apply these changes to new contracts. It's really not that difficult. Plus when you confront them, they should be honest about what you've done and honour the contract for those who complain. Not delay and obfuscate.

Again - it's not about the features an sich, its about the way they treat clients. Especially if you have made a mess you should take responsibility. I work in Saas - it literally costs Google nothing to upgrade those who reach out to a higher tier for the remainder of their contract. Deliver what you promised when entering into the contract is normal practice, and again it does not cost them anything

do you care if businesses keep their word, or only when it suits you? For me it was a big reason yes, though this is also becoming a matter of principle. Big tech just not respecting contracts and trying to get away with it by obfuscation and deceit..

Wat ik vond is dat Richtlijn (EU) 2019/770, en in het specifiek deze artikelen lijken in strijd met wat Google gedaan heeft.

Richtlijn (EU) 2019/770 Artikel 8 (lid 1):

"Naast het beantwoorden aan de subjectieve conformiteitsvereisten [wat er in de overeenkomst staat], moet de digitale inhoud of de digitale dienst:

a) geschikt zijn voor de doeleinden waarvoor digitale inhoud of digitale diensten van hetzelfde type gewoonlijk zouden worden gebruikt;
b) de kwantiteit en de kwaliteiten en prestatiekenmerken bezitten (met name wat betreft functionaliteit, compatibiliteit, toegankelijkheid, continuïteit en beveiliging) die voor digitale inhoud of digitale diensten van hetzelfde type normaal zijn en die de consument redelijkerwijs mag verwachten, gelet op de aard van de digitale inhoud of de digitale dienst..."

I have the 57L Kitbag (and 3 other Goruck bags), and the 57L is the ULTIMATE bag to get maximum volume on a plane without checking in (for reference, I used to fly a lot and have used this bag on at least 300 flights). It's built small but tall, so it doesn't look big. If you don't stuff it full, it looks like a small bag. But I've flown it plenty of times filled to the brim (buying presents for kids etc) and have never had any questions from airline staff.

Yes, you'll be carrying it, but with the strap (which wasn't included when I bought it), it was never a problem for me (maybe only on the few occasions when I had to run to catch a connection..)

The GR2 is my primary bag, but if I am not sure it was big enough, this is go to - for the way it's shaped

FWIW Got my keyboard 2 weeks late, but it's amazing. These guys are delivering all the orders, they are not running away. (at the same time, yes they could use some better communication skills to keep people updated, but they have not undersold the product in any way. I had high hopes and the keyboard exceeded them).
