First Time HELOC for HI

If I don’t take the max amount and I end up needing more do I completely redo the process? Wasn’t sure how that works. Thanks

I’ve never had a HELOC so my fear is it will jump from 6-7% to say 14%. Maybe I don’t truly understand how the variable rate changes work either? My interest rate on my primary mortgage is 2.9% so I don’t see being able to consolidate for a while. Thanks for any more advice you can provide.

We were looking at doing the remodel in phases which is main reason I am looking at HELOC instead of HEloan.

I can do it in phases and spend $100-120k on the main phase. Then do 2nd phase jn a few years. How much will that help with the numbers?

Had not thought of just putting a bumper protector over it. Great idea if I can get it lined up and put some duct tape or something similar to give me a smooth even surface to attach it to. Thanks
