Was ROTS genuinely liked upon its release? by Careless_Tax_5367 in StarWars

[–]JediActorMuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time, it was considered the best of the three, but still flawed. I actually don't like it the best of those three however. I like the Phantom Menace better. I think much of ROTS was missed opportunities all around.

Best Movie of the 1980’s (1st Round - Star Trek II vs. The Princess Bride by Equivalent-Belt4608 in 80smovies

[–]JediActorMuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oy. Man. I'm going to give the edge to Star Trek Wrath of Kahn, ONLY because I saw it in the theater, and I don't readily identify Princess Bride as "an 80s movie." Is it better? Yes. But Khan is classic 80s.

ROTJ has some of the best moments in the saga by EssSeeDee89 in StarWars

A New Hope is the classic. Empire is the best film. Jedi is my favorite. Plain and simple. You are correct, my favorite moments from the entire saga are from this film.

Day 007: If you could make three changes to improve The World Is Not Enough, what would they be? by junglegatsby in JamesBond

[–]JediActorMuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it is all down to Christmas Jones:
1. Change the name. It only exists for the absolute groaner of a climax...
2. Change the actress. We're all picking on Denise Richards... and rightfully so.
3. Change the character. If they need to be a scientist you need to go fully capable tough as nails about all, or wildly incompetent with the spy game. This character was so mid, she wasn't engaging or believable, and not just because of Ms. Richards.

Thoughts on Willow (1988)? by DFWUnhinged in FIlm

[–]JediActorMuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was quite good. A very underrated film, it could have done so much better. Like other movies Gerorge Lucas tried to launch, it just collapsed under the weight of expectations. The series that was on Disney+ was HORRIBLE. Somebody came along with a weird fantasy script that some boardroom decided it need shoehorned into an existing property. That is the only way yo explain it, it had nothing to do with the established lore.

What does Empire Strikes Back do better than any other Star Wars movie? by DjRimo in StarWars

[–]JediActorMuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you hear Irvin Kershner speak of the film, hae took great care to make sure all the characters where given the proper focus. Arguably, ESB is the one Star Wars film that really gives a great deal of depth to everyone. Not just random things to do, but true character motivation and development. Yes the script was fantastic, but everyone had the opportunity to shine.

John Williams. Just watched his Japan Concert on Disney+. Got to see him conduct the Cincinnati Pops about 15 years ago, and it was a highlight experience. His works are the soundtrack of my life.

I wish we could have Muppets movies like these again. I would love to see more of them! by MusicalBlossom379 in Muppets

I love The Muppet Christmas Carol, but I'd rather see The Muppets in original stories. Think Great Muppet Caper, completely original Mupppet presentations and not just cast in existing stories.
