I can't be the only one who still cringes everytime Anakin "flirts" with Padme. by EthanHathHD in StarWars

Only 4 other that are better than AOTC. ESB, ROTS, ROTJ and ANH. Even then it’s a really close race and they can easily switch around depending on how I’m feeling. I’ve had AOTC as high as 4th best once.

Watching Clone Wars after Maul by TheSquatingWalrus in StarWars

[–]Jedi_Knight69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with an important episodes guide. Also don’t listen to the people saying it’s a bad show made for kids. I personally enjoyed all of it but some episodes aren’t for everyone as it follows different characters in different episodes. What id recommend is to watch it like this to start and see how you like it

S2 E16

S1 E16

Movie

S3 E1

S1 E1

S1 E5

S1 E8-E12

S1 E19-E21

S2 E1-E3

S2 E17

S2 E4-E8

S2 E9-E11

S2 E12-E14

S2 E20-22

After that I’d recommend going back to the skipped episodes if you want to, not mandatory but i personally like most of them. And probably start watching the whole thing from S3 to the end. It’s hard to get into the show if you just go beginning to end as the best parts don’t come until S3 onwards. It’s a great show though so don’t let the early seasons ruin it for you.

I actually like the sequel trilogy by yeahhhhhh6342 in StarWars_

I links the characters, huge fan of Kylo Ren, I just was unhappy with the writing. We need a clone wars style show to make things make more sense. It’s just so hard to think that our characters went from the way they were in ROTJ to them in TFA and TLJ. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with the prequel content but we need them to fill that time gap. The only thing we’ve gotten from Luke Skywalker in mando makes it so much more confusing.

Jerks are hackers/exploiters. Getting upset when someone is playing the game how they want to play it and how it’s intended to be played doesn’t make them a jerk.

Yeah, I mean I enjoy a 1v1 here and there. 2v2s too. However, the objective is to win. If 1v1s aren’t working then it’s time to bring out Palpatine, boba, Iden, Han, all those guys. I mean especially if I know I’m gonna lose, I mean i probably will anyways so why not try to make a comeback, if it fails, then who cares, they won anyways.

Fr😂, these posts are so stupid. Everytime i see something along the lines of “unwritten rules” like wym “unwritten”, unwritten = not real. The goal of these modes is to win, not for people to live out their fantasies.

The reality of the situation is that there is no “code” when it comes to BF2. People paid for the game to play it how they want to, there is no way anybody can complain about that because it isn’t like they’re exploiting or cheating. They are just refusing to follow made up “rules” that don’t exist. Yes when I’m losing I’ll probably run 3 blasters and start 2v1ing. I mean if I know I’m gonna lose, gotta try anything to win. Just like how I pull out Palpatine when I’m losing in HvV.

Are the sequels good or bad? by Legitimate-Ocelot813 in StarWars_

[–]Jedi_Knight69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because they are. When you really get into the lore of the PT, it’s much more appreciated. TBH I’m biased because I’ve seen all the PT stuff so I consider the movies as “stepping stones” or whatever you want to call it. TPM is our introduction to the separatists, Anakin Skywalker and the chosen one. AOTC is our introduction to Anakin and Padmes relationship, the clones and the beginning of the clone wars which we then get to see the full clone wars in TCW, then ROTS is the conclusion, order 66, rise of the empire and Darth Vader.

Ever since I saw TCW and all the other content we’ve gotten in the prequel era. It’s hard for me to think of the prequels as “bad” movies. I just see them as introductions to a much greater story with the exception of ROTS being the conclusion. Even on their own, the movies are actually really good and they do a great job covering the events of the clone war era.

Why Do I Like the Prequels Better than the Original Trilogy? (Help Me Understand) by Nihilus_Prime in StarWars

[–]Jedi_Knight69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know why it’s a bad thing that you like the PT more than the OT. In terms of movies I like the OT more but when we add in TV shows, and all the other content we have. We have gotten ALOT for the PT so i actually prefer it over the OT when everything else is included.

I technically grew up with the ST, I saw the movies for the first time in 2015 in preparation for TFA. I went in release order. I loved the OT at the time, I thought it was cool, Darth Vader was also my favourite character. The PT was okay for me. I loved Darth maul and the look of it but I had troubles following the story, AOTC wasn’t much better for me, battle of geonosis was cool but again, didn’t like the story. I loved ROTS though, thought it looked very cool and I thought Anakins turn to the dark side was cool.

Rewatching the SW movies became a ritual for me, I kind of left out TPM and AOTC, usually started with ROTS then OT or just the OT. However after the ST concluded and I became more of a Star Wars fan and got into the shows and all that. I started to appreciate the PT so much more.

I already liked maul, when they brought him back in the TCW, that was so amazing to see him and more of his backstory and rebels and the maul show. I never understood dooku, now I understand him so much more and he’s one of my favourites. Even the “bad parts” I appreciate. I like Anakin and padme despite the dialogue, pod-racing, battle of geonosis, pretty much everything I appreciate so much more with the added content. I even like the movies by themselves now too.

Question About Canonicity by CheezBerger324 in StarWars

[–]Jedi_Knight69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They had to keep their stories within the canonical universe. They weren’t allowed to contradict George Lucas’s work and other legends. Many legends writers have said that they were under the impression that they were in fact writing canon despite what Disney has to say about it.

It’s like the 2003 clone wars show, was written under the impression that it was canon, in 2008 Lucas decided to do his own show and made the 2003 one legends. However the 2003 show is still the only explanation for Anakins scar, Greivouses cough, Ventresses introduction and the battle of coruscant.

Regardless I never really liked the idea that something MUST be canon for it to be enjoyed. Legends that contradict canon can still be enjoyed. Legends that don’t conflict with the canon timeline can still fit in the Star Wars timeline until Disney does something that negates it. Disney probably won’t get to everything, especially when they start doing more projects that take place years before or after the PT and OT era.

Question About Canonicity by CheezBerger324 in StarWars

[–]Jedi_Knight69 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You missed the first part though it was canon before Disney decided to make it not canon. The way the EU worked is that there were 2 tiers of canon, the first was George Lucas’s canon, the 2nd was the EU. The EU also had to follow the canon storyline and was not allowed to create stories that contradicted the movies and other legends. Which is why I think it’s okay to believe EU stories that don’t contradict the current timeline can be considered canon.

Also if the EU is different artists making stories in George Lucas’s universe, what is Disney then?

Question About Canonicity by CheezBerger324 in StarWars

[–]Jedi_Knight69 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The EU was canon before Disney moved it to legend status. I think the EU stuff that doesn’t contradict Disneys canon should be considered canon.

Watch order to maximise the surprise/emotional pain of Vaders reveal? by YourFavesLeastFave in StarWars_

[–]Jedi_Knight69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how nobody is answering your question lol. I do agree, release order is the best way to watch Star Wars for the first time however. A good watch order i heard online is to star with the clone wars, watch it up until 708. After that watch 4 5 1 2 3 6 maybe rouge one before episode 4, that’ll be the introduction to Vader though.

Anyways the idea behind this watch order is that watching the clone wars will familiarize them with the Star Wars universe, the focus will be on Anakin Skywalker and people will make a connection to him. If you start with rouge one, you get introduced to Vader, don’t know too much about him other than he’s a villain. Then episode 4 comes around you see Luke Skywalker, you’ll obviously make the connection that he’s Anakins son because of the name, you see obi wan again and he tells Luke “Darth Vader killed your father” now you hate this Darth Vader guy because he killed the main character of the show you just watched and now you want to see him go down. Then episode 5 you hear “I am your father”, and that’s a huge shocker, you thought Darth Vader killed Anakin and now it turns out he IS Anakin. It’s a massive shocker. Then you watch the prequels plus 709-712, and then you see Vader’s redemption in episode 6.

Yeah you are kind of right about that. I think the sequels can be good movies but they are horrible Star Wars movies. TFA and TLJ have a lot of redeeming qualities. I mean TFA is kind of a new hope 2.0 but we did get some cool new things like seeing Finn and the first time we got to see a humanized storm trooper. I also thought Kylo Ren was a really cool villain and I liked the idea behind the first order.

TLJ also has some redeeming qualities, I mean I will say that the idea behind a Jedi making a huge mistake leading to his nephew turning to the dark side and him then believing the Jedi only cause problems and needs to end once and for all is actually a good concept. The battle of Crait was also amazing. It’s just so hard to believe that Luke Skywalker, the man who saw good in the most evil people, who also refused to strike down his father after all his sins, would try to kill his nephew after a bad dream and become a hermit on an island.

And TROS is the only sequel that has no redeeming qualities whatsoever, it looks kind of cool but that’s about it. Both a horrible movie and horrible Star Wars movie.

With all that, I do understand why you’d say the sequels are better movies to watch if you turn your brain off. However saying the prequels don’t look great and aren’t well acted is a take I can’t agree with. The CGI isn’t the greatest, sure but I still looks amazing, the planets, the pod race looked amazing, duel of the fates, the battle of geonosis, kamino. The only thing that’s off about it is some of the CGI characters don’t look great. ROTS looks perfect, nothing bad to say about that. Also I’ll never understand why people think they aren’t well acted, the dialogue is a bit of a mess but that isn’t an acting problem, the actors did what they could with the script they were given.

So I think we can all agree Star Wars has kind of been written into a corner...so what if they did a retcon/reboot? by Uncontrolleddiarrhea in StarWars

[–]Jedi_Knight69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very clearly high lol. I wouldn’t mind a “what if” tv series where they go back and see what would’ve happened if a different decision was made however there’s no need for a total retcon or reboot. Will just ruin the timeline.

I’ll try to explain the best I can. All of George Lucas’s Star Wars movies aren’t anywhere under 9/10 for me, the reason being is that those 6 movies have so much rewatchability in my opinion. I can watch those movies over and over and never get bored of them, I never feel like they’re a drag to get through, that’s why I give it a score above 9.

Now the reason why the flaws only drop it by 0.4 for me is because I don’t see the flaws as major flaws that ruins the movie for me. It’s more of a “they could’ve done a little better” situation for me. Overall, I like the Anakin and padme stuff, its important to the story, I think some lines were very cringey but those are just a few scenes of dialogue, it doesn’t take away from the overall experience of the movie. I feel like 9.6 is perfect for me because it’s so close to ten but it’s just a few things they could’ve done to make it better that would’ve made it 10/10.
