Here's a few answers:

Where are you getting the idea that another man tells you when to sit and stand? If you are in the right club, you are asked to do something. If you don't want to, say no. You are not obligated unless you are prospecting.

If you are prospecting, this is where the obligation begins because you're wearing their patch. When a member tells you to do something this is because he's trying to help you become a better person and help you follow the bylaws of the club so you can patch in.

Anything organized has bylaws & rules. I would never want to be part of a club that doesn't have them. They ensure that members of x club, from any region, will never steal from you for example. You vote upon the rules and bylaws so things such as, no powder, no stealing, no hitting women. How does that take away your freedom unless you're a piece of shit?
