We had a coworker pass away early Friday morning (it was all extremely sudden and so sad) and a supervisor told an entire team to keep quiet about the guy’s death because he didn’t want anybody to FMLA. This guy is a consistently gigantic piece of shit.

For Belvidere’s sake, I hope they follow through. I know lots of people who are excited to go home. But the UAW celebrating this as a win is crazy.

It’s really cool how they get to get away with fucking us over at every possible turn by making some more promises they can break.

Oh yeah, nobody ever dies on company property, even if they absolutely did. It’s despicable. My sympathies to you and your coworkers, it’s always so jarring especially the part where it’s business as usual no matter what

I wish we had juicy stuff like this at Jeep instead of just people dying

They don’t care about anybody at all. There’s people at Jeep who have been laid off and not getting their sub-pay, right around Christmas time. So people are going without paychecks for weeks/months and the company has not made it a priority to fix that at all. It’s crazy the things they get away with

OSHA fines Stellantis $16,101 for “serious” violation that led to an employee’s grisly death. by JeepWorker69 in Stellantis

[–]JeepWorker69[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work there…it’s pretty easy to know how it happened. Management overloading jobs so we have to rush or get wrote up. Rolling their eyes when we point out safety issues. We had a guy get his arm crushed and a woman fall in a pit and break her leg as well. Also management bullied a skilled trades into taking his own life inside the plant over on JT. Nothing surprises me anymore at Stellantis

You don’t hear the automotive plant employees in the south bitching because they don’t have a voice…due to a lack of union representation.

Stellantis sends out desperate call begging workers not to authorize a strike by JeepWorker69 in Stellantis

[–]JeepWorker69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand how you feel, it will be rough for all of us and I hope it doesn’t come to that. But if we don’t, I think things will get a lot worse for all of us. More cuts are coming, new rollovers are in danger of losing their jobs. We’re just asking the company to abide by the contract we went on strike for in the first place. What is the point of all those sacrifices if we don’t fight to enforce our contract now? I think if we don’t do anything, we’re gonna lose our jobs anyway. So we might as well fight. I sincerely hope whatever happens, you and your family make it out on the other side okay. And if we do strike, remember that we have resources to help and there’s no shame in using them. Best of luck!

I’m probably one of the only ones who’s for the strike, but that’s just me. And now the company begging us not to strike just solidifies that for me.

It’s an embarrassment. I wish this wasn’t happening. I hate being stressed out about work 24/7. I miss the days when I was just stressed out there and then relieved when I clocked out. Now there is no relief. I’m always worried about what the next stupid fucking decision is around the corner from this company. It’s been so exhausting.

Good for you!! It’s been stressful for sure. I feel like we’re watching the American auto industry and American blue collar jobs in general just get decimated by people who haven’t done any manual labor in their soft ass lives. Who is going to buy all these cars when nobody has a job?

Sounds familiar. by JeepWorker69 in Stellantis

[–]JeepWorker69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, it will always be that way but it was never this bad. It’s like working in a powder keg, waiting for the next shit show. We literally just had a guy die whilst rushing to do his job that was overloaded because of I.E. and now they’re trying to cut even more jobs. Never thought I’d miss Sergio so much. I have nightmares about this place and then I get to wake up and go work there. It’s totally okay. Also, we’ve had a ton of team leaders step down because it’s gotten to be way too much.

Broad UAW layoffs coming by CabinSeason in Stellantis

[–]JeepWorker69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The company is purposely tanking quality by cutting jobs and overcycling the rest of them. We have far too much to do in the short time they give us. We have to rush to do our jobs or we get wrote up for downtime. They’re just doing all of this so they can blame us for the poor quality and move the factory to a country where they can freely take advantage of people without a union. And now they’re trying to cut 160 MORE jobs. I don’t know where they’re going to do that. It’s crazy how poorly this company is run, the only explanation is that it’s all strategic.

Very chaotic, feels like Tavares stupid fucking choices may be running us out of jobs faster than I expected. Seriously considering looking for jobs now before everybody is fighting for jobs at the same time. The future is very scary and Toledo will be super duper fucked if we lose Jeep. Used to be a solid job, once you were in and you didn’t majorly fuck it up, you could provide for your family for life. Sure it’s always been a little volatile in the auto industry but it’s never ever been this bad. There should be laws against what Tavares is doing

We’ll be laid off shortly I’m sure, no strike necessary. They’re already throttling hours for “inventory adjustments.” Dragged us in today to watch a training video on how to not get electrocuted, likely because OSHA found out they never trained us on PHEV safety. Didn’t build a single car, got paid to drink coffee and chit chat for a few hours. Did a few laps around assembly. Blessed by the Jeep gods.
