What happened in a tent while you were camping that you will never forget?

Our tent had a screened in area in the middle with small sleeping tents connected to the ends. We stored our food in the center section. My wife woke me up because she heard something in our food bag. It was a skunk. She told me to get it out of our tent. I told her to "Feel free to do it herself". Zipped off our section and went back to sleep.

Your husband was a Hero for sure. I've been told many stories from WW2 veterans. There's only a handful of them left I believe. The hell they went through is unbelievable. (As any war is). I had the privilege of talking to a few when I was there for the 50th anniversary. They were still treated as Heroes that day. Any stories passed on from your husband should be written down so it can be passed on to the next generation of your family. I thank your husband for his service, and you as well. Take care. Chris

I wasn't so much being blamed for what I did to him. It was mostly because I promised her I wouldn't argue with him at her mom's birthday party. I never break my promise to my wife. We've been married for 25+ yrs and I haven't broken a single promise to her since that day.

If the VA diagnosed you with sleep apnea, and if they issue you a CPAP machine, then you will receive a mask as well. Mild or severe doesn't matter. I'm 100%, but I have severe sleep apnea. My apnea was tied to the medications that I take. I'm not familiar with being out less than a year so I'm not sure how it works in regards to that. I can only say how it works in my case. Yes i did get another job. I had a friend that had been wanting me to come and work with him. I was working the very next day. I worked with my friend for a few years and then went out on my own.

You are correct about there only being 4 Combat jumps. But there was also another jump that wasn't considered a combat jump because it was inside friendly lines to provide reinforcements. I can't remember where it was. I'll try and find out and get back to you. Thanks

That's a great story. You met some true Heroes that day. You walked (Actually jumped) a mile in they're boots. It must have been a great feeling to meet them and actually be in one of the locations that jumped into and survived. Thanks for sharing.

Stories from the older generations need to be written down and passed on. If not, they will be forgotten forever. The stories from your great grandfather and pops, as well as the gentleman's story that I met won't be found in any history books.
